Default Am I ready with these pictures? CC pls.

So I put together a set. And wanted to see what kind of feedback I'd get. I want to get some advice, business wise. So I took a stab at it.

Please CC - and give it to me, don't hold back. Am I ready?

    Here is my set http://elfungphotography.smugmug.com...79168153_xCtKx

I can't help with CC but I just wanted to say that I think it's a gorgeous and diverse set.

Some seems a bit snapish in comparison to the rest,
like I loved #13 when you posted it the first time (and still do) but it doesn't seem to fit.
    16 seems too centered
20 again love the shot but when you go from this to 21 seems a bit off,
love love 26, do you have room to make the eyes a bit less centered?

great set! just a couple of things I noticed

#14 seems overly bright to me. I like it, but I think that it should be toned down a touch

    #20 seems too snapshotty

#21 - love it but at the same time, it seems too "floaty" - just like the baby and hand are floating in midair. I wish we were more connected to a body here

#24 - doesn't seem as professional as most of the others. not sure why I'm saying that, I can't put my finger on it, but it's a gut feeling

#25 doesn't seem to belong either (and just from looking at it, your son's cheeks seem close to being blown, but that could be just compared to the black background of the page)

#28 - colors seem off here

    #29 - I'm not connected to anyone here ...

Now, I don't know enough about pre-pro or anything, but I feel like you need more variety in your subjects here. Just my take on the whole lot together. But you really have some amazing images here, and

    Love #7!
#14- use the clone tool to clean up the broken balloon
16- the lighting is bugging me/ too bright and even
    19- so cute!
the last ten images are really the best ones imo.
17 and 12 are too snap shotty imo

Alright...gonna give it to you straight.

    1. I like the light, but not the setting or background.

    2. Don't like the conversion..but not sure why. I also don't like Mom's expression...really strange.

    3. So cute.

    4. like this....not sure how I feel about the comp though.

    5. color needs work, I'm seeing yellow on the forehead and green cast (understandably) on the chin.

    6. Really not feeling the composition on this. Feels like a snap to me.

    7. Really really don't like this conversion and it needs a new crop...get those eyes as close as possible to the upper right hand third.

    8. Hilarious and fun.

    9. nice.

    10. cute moment, but don't like the composition. I wish that the baby was higher up in the frame and we had less of the top of the boy's head.

    11. snap...take it out.

    12. Nothing about this speaks to me. I don't like the expression of your boy here...I've seen a million pictures of your boy that are better.

    13. I adore this shot.

    14. Oversharpened? Too bright? Just a bit off.

    15. I don't like that the clock is more prominent than they are. I'd maybe crop more of the clock out. I dunno....

    16. comp definitely needs work. His eyes are in the middle of the frame...and with all that dead space above and to the right of him, it is totally unnecessary.

    17. It's a snap...a cute snap...but a snap.

    18. He needs to be brightned to compete with the bright background.

    19. cute.

    20. snap...I'm not a fan of the tree poking your DH in the head. Wish your boy were looking at the camera.

    21. not a big fan of floating babies. Crop it closer and it might not be so odd looking.

    22. Not a fan of the conversion, how is this one in color?

    23. Color is bugging me out...they are purple, the trees are gray, and the red wood of the bridge is stealing the show....along with that big sunspot on the bottom part of the bridge.

    24. It's a bit blah...I'd crop it closer and see if that helped.

    25. I see halo.

    26. Cute...but the eyes are in the center of the frame again. Needs a different crop.

    27. I really like this shot.

    28. Cute! I wish we had dad's face, but i still like it. I might rotate it counter clockwise some so it looks more like the dad is supporting the baby.

    29. Snapshot.

    30. She is purple and the composition is bad...they are dead center in the frame with space both above them and to the right....move her into the upper right third.

I'm sorry to say that I just don't think this set is ready.

Thanks everyone! Thanks Amber for telling me straight. I will continue to work on more photoshoot and I'll redo my set. I wouldn't want to be denied and not know why.

FYI #2 that's the way mom smiles.. lol

I just saw this. Sorry I didn't give you cc earlier. I agree with Amber. You don't have to have a variety of subjects but a variety of situations. Think of it like a test. You want to show them that you can handle all kinds of lighting, age groups, groupings, etc. And they want to see formal portraits for the most part. Many of these are just too snapshotty.

I think you could easily take the pics you need though so don't let this discourage you just get out there and take them!

I have updated my set. Please give me feed back and let me know if I should just start all over. I re-did lots of PP on the pictures that were suggested to be off in color. Same link as above... but here it is: http://elfungphotography.smugmug.com...81772069_tLRr2
