This is my sister in law and her two children. They visited the week before Christmas and so they were kind enough to let me practice

Now I really want a dancer to practice photos with here...and sunset. We were too early for sunset this day.....and I need to learn how to properly do a silhouette!
Exposure 0.001 sec (1/2000)
Aperture f/2.5
ISO Speed 100
3)
Exposure 1/4000 sec
Aperture f/2.5
ISO Speed 100

Can you tell I like the jumping ones? Not with all families, but with the ones I've done, I've done it very early on in the session and it really seems to help everyone loosen up
Exposure 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture f/4.0
ISO Speed 800
5)
Does this one look too "cheesy" with her looking up and away? Her eyes are so pretty that I wanted more than just straight on to the camera, you know?
Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture f/4.0
ISO Speed 800
6)
Exposure 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/4.0
ISO Speed 800
7)
Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture f/4.0
ISO Speed 800
fun and sassy one for her hubby! I guess I did something when I was editing to the color since it looks so different from the others....
Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture f/4.0
ISO Speed 800

By this time the sun was really going down and the oaks really had it shaded....

These are great. Really like #1 and #4. Not a fan of the looking away in #5. #6 is really cute, but I think it could use a different crop so his face isn't quite so dead center.
YAY for more practice!
1. precious. I would LOVE one like this of my kiddos. You b&ws could use some more omph though...
2. This one threw me for a loop! Couldn't tell if she was on the water or what! Neat! The bright spot is a bit distracting though. Can't help with exposing during sunset- struggling with the same thing.
3. I like this one better than 2.
4. cute! I think it's a great way to get them to loosen up! Love the boy's jump!
5. I don't think it would look cheesy if her expression was different. She does have gorgeous eyes though!
6. I know a lot of people bring step-stools or ladders to stand on to get away from the in-camera crop
7. only cc here is I wish I could see the daughter's face a bit more....and maybe a closer crop.
8. too cute! Hubby will love!
9. wish son was closer, but still- great shot!
