Autofocus lens for a Nikon D60???

Okay I am so ready to go beyond my kit lens and my 50mm is just a serious pain with no ability to autofocus on my nikon D60. Can someone please recommend a lens that will autofocus on a D60? I will be using the lens mostly for taking pics of my silly active 9 month old. Maybe also some nature shots since we are now in spring but mostly I enjoy photographing people.
Please excuse me if I made any crazy spelling or grammer errors I am posting from my phone cause I am at the beach (which is what is making me wish I had a better lens!)
Thanks in advance ladies!

I'm not a nikon user so hopefully some one will correct me if i'm wrong, but I think the 35mm is what your looking for.

I've been researching 50mm lenses for my D40, and, unless I'm mistaken, the 50mm 1.8 does NOT autofocus, but the 50mm 1.4 does. The price in the latter is a bit higher. I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Not sure about the 50mm 1.4, but I'm certain the 35mm 1.8 does, and I LOVE mine!

Thanks for the replies so far. Anyone know about a 28-75?

I have the same issues with my D40. I opted for the 35mm 1.8 because I didn't want to spend the $ on the 50mm 1.4. I have not regretted it. And from my understanding - since my camera isn't full frame it essentially acts like a 50mm (don't ask me how...just read it). I adore it and leave it on my camera all the time!!!

ETA - Look for lenses that say AF-S. Those should work for you.
