B&W conversions (JMKs)

I'm trying to get better at my B&W conversions. I was playing with these images I took at the fair the other day. How do the conversions look?

(Also cropped a bit closer when converting this one)

TIA for input!

I am on a non calibrated monitor at work. But as far as I can see, the conversion looks really good on the first one. The second one is a bit brighter so I might add a bit of contrast to show the blacks more.

Thanks, El! I knew the second one didn't feel quite right, but couldn't put my finger on it. I think you've nailed it... appreciate the help!

I'm not great on conversions myself, but I like the look of these!

I can't say I'm a whiz at conversions, but I *am* a huge fan of b&w and these both work REALLY well in b&w. #2 could use a touch more contrast, but other than that, you hit these right on the head!

Good job!
