Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful summer!
I'm going to dive back into the board after a couple of months away, if you'll all have me back. I just needed a break to regroup and start enjoying photography again -- for a while I felt so down on myself with the great photographers here that I was no longer enjoying myself, and since it's a hobby for me that I picked up because I enjoy it and it provides a break with the young kids and everything, I wanted to find that "joy" again. I still want to learn and improve, but I just needed time to enjoy and stop thinking so much about what I was doing wrong all the time. So, here I am again, if that's OK!
If you want to see what I've been up to in the past couple of months, there is some stuff of mine here.
I still am not doing a lot of people photography, which I'm so anxious to learn, but I'm going to have a baptism by fire soon. A friend asked me to take pictures of her family. I warned her about my camera's limitations and MY limitations, more importantly, and of course it's DEFINITELY a freebie, but I'm super-stressed about it. She really wants me to try though, so I said I would. She assures me she knows that's not my "specialty" and that she has no expectations, but still! I did get a couple of good shots of my nephew during his recent stay here, which encouraged me, but I'm freaked out about shooting anyone outside of the family. I'll probably ask for some advice here before I go out with her family.
Glad to be back and be able to see everyone's awesome work again and be inspired to learn and grow some more!
