Backdrop stands??

I'm trying to decide where to buy a backdrop stand. They go for about $200-$300 in the local camera stores, but are much cheaper on ebay... but I'm wondering if it's one of those 'you get what you pay for' things.

Does anyone have one of the cheapy ones off ebay? If so, how is it?

Any other suggestions or opinions are appreciated too! Biggrin

I have a cheap one....but got it off B&H I think. Works just fine for me. I think if you're just using paper I wouldn't worry too much. May be worth spending more if you use it for several canvas backdrops at once or something like that.

I got a cheapo one from B&H or Adorama forgot where I purchased it. It's one of those collapsible things and I can store it in my closet, since I don't have a dedicated area to leave it.

Oh good. I think I will go ahead and order one off ebay. It's less than half the price! Thanks for your responses Smile

I also have a fairly inexpensive one from amazon. It collapses down really nice which is important for me too as I don't have a permanent place to keep it set up.

Best of luck!

I made a stand out of PVC pipes (for my fleece backdrops). Cost about $15 all said and done and travels well Smile
