We had our baseball game shoot last night for class. I found I'm not so interested in sports (baseball at least). I just am not a sports kinda gal and while I found the opportunity amazing, it's not likely something I'll get into.
The 70-200mm 2.8 IS is AMAZING! I can see why so many people don't want to give that lens back if they rent it. It was heavy, but not too much so. I was pretty much seated the whole time, so that may have helped. But I found the zoom to be very smooth and it's crispness great, even with my fast moving.
So, here are just a few of my favs.
1/500 3.2 200
1/1600 2.8 200
1/1000 2.8 400
1/800 2.8 800

WOW, I think you did a great job!!! That is really a cool experience, even if you think it's not something you may do a lot of in the future. #1 is my fav, but I LOVE the facial expression in the last one!
Wow, these are great! I would love the opportunity but I know I would find the actual sport boring, lol!
Wow those are all really good action shots!
Thanks!
Yeah, everyone asked me how the game was, who won, etc. I just shrug and say I dunno because I was taking pictures the whole time, not really paying attention.
I love #1. Wish I had planned it a bit better. It was a QUICK snap as we were standing up for the national anthem (I kind of felt weird snapping away during the anthem, ya know?). #4 was also quick snap that I'm glad I caught. The 3rd baseman (the one with the funny expression) got barreled down by a runner and he was fussing at the ump for not making some sort of call I guess (do they make calls during baseball games???).
those look great, love the last one![]()

I love these! i think you did awesome. My DH played hardball and was a pitcher and #2 so reminds me of him. love the emotion in #3![]()
I'm cracking up! yes, they make calls. that's what they do. they're the ones who determine if a runner is out.
I am loving these! you did such a nice job! the second one seems either underexposed or has an off WB - the uniforms are all a nice white in the others, but it's more of a blue/gray in the second one. just though I'd mention that. but I really enjoyed looking at these, you did a nice job!
