It's been a while since I've visited or posted anything. End of summer was crazy then school started and then *I* started school! It's been 10 years but I'm finally going back and finishing a degree! So I've been busy. I have to get a fine arts credit so I'm hoping to take a photography class next semester! yay! It was full this semester since I registered last minute, so I'm taking sign language instead (remember.. I'm the one who lost my hearing earlier this year!).. thats been a lot of fun actually!
Anyways... One of my besties is pg and she's been wanting to really document this pregnancy. I have gotten all the fun important things so far. I even got the day she peed on the stick! She came running over to my house freaking out and called her husband (they had been trying, so she was REALLY excited) and she told him at my house! I was able to get pictures of her telling him and their reaction. She's about 20 weeks (5ish months) and we did a mini photo session this weekend just to get the 5 month pics. Her belly recently popped (this is her 5th, but 2nd with hubby) and she finally has a pg belly. So here's a few that I did.. it's been a LONG time since I've picked up my camera to do anything like this.
the shadow under her boob kinda bothers me but I have not had time to really mess with it too much - this was more of a belly progression pic, not a "maternity" shoot.. her 4 yr old was there and he's SO excited so we did a couple with him just for fun
and this one i wish he was smiling but he was being silly and was refusing to smile and so i was telling him "u better not smile, okay" (joking) so this was him "trying not to smile" ..hehe
She's having a homebirth and I'm the doula/birth photographer.. I'm SO excited for this baby!
AND.. while I'm at it.. I also had some friends over and we were playing in the back yard and the sun was setting so I grabbed my camera and wanted to play with exposure and the cool sun flare pics that everyone has been doing. I've never attempted and I know we weren't in the best spot (on the trampoline in my backyard).. but just trying out the technique, this is what I got for my first try
whew... okay, back to trying to catch up on the rest of ya'lls posts.. you ladies have been busy since I've been gone!
I LOVE that second picture. Love it to pieces!!!
I too love the 2nd pic. What a precious moment you caught!

THanks ladies! I'm not normally a fan of words or anything like that on pictures, but I really liked it on this particular picture. I thought it not only helped show the connection between big brother and "baby" but brother to brother which is so much stronger than "just baby"... kwim!?
she has the coolest tattoo! the conversions are really nice. hope we get to see more as she continues to pop.

VERY NICE CONVERSIONS!!!! I love #2 and #3! Must have been a fun shoot - the little boy looks like he is just full of attitude.
Glad to have you back.
Here is one more from the series with her husband. It's not one of my personal favorites but it's one of HER's. This one was not even "posed" per say... we wanted her son to do it without his shirt on and so she thought if daddy did it he would do it... so he's looking at the 4 yr old.. I would like this more if he was looking at the belly, eyes closed or at the camera... she wants to do one of these "for real" for her MATERNITY shoot when she's closer to 34 wks.
What great shots! And I love the "accidental" daddy shot.
So very cute! they all look so happy!
