    Default Beginner in Photography

    hello-
DH and I are sheer beginners when it comes to photography. We would like to be able to studio like shots but don't know where to start to learn. Any suggestions? Also what editing programs do you use? We use photoimpact for most of our stuff....

check out the stickies at the top for good starting information.

but really, it's practice, practice, practice. you want to get your exposure right first (light is soooooooooo important) and then learn how your camera works to control things like your depth of focus (DOF) with aperture and focal length. Understanding Exposure is a great book to start out with - there are exercises to help you along.

And don't be afraid to post your pictures for advice on how to improve. I've learned so much that way!
