sounds like something is happening to your resolution when you're editing. remind me, what are you using to edit? images look fine online at a low resolution, but you need a high resolution for printing.

I usually get my prints through Costco and have no issues.

I order mine through mpix if I want something "frameable" and shutterfly for just snaps.

yes I would not go through wal-mart or walgreens. I have had bad experiences with both. But then again I think I'm going to blame it on myself for not having my monitor calibrated. But also partly on them too. I haven't really tried printing anything for awhile. I don't want to try again until I am calibrated. Smile

how are you editing your photos? one thing you should never do is reduce the size of your photos and then print.

good luck Smile i have been wanting to try whcc but i live overseas and it costs a bit more for me. So I've just been printing stuff at home on my nice printer I got for xmas last year. I'll try printing at a local shop after I calibrate.

I looked at your photostream on flickr, and viewed the properties on a few of them. it seems that ones that you didn't edit with picnik have a higher resolution than those you edited. but then again, flickr could be resizing your final versions, so it's hard to tell.

here's my take - if CVS and the like are telling you that the resolution isn't high enough for printing, then you'll still get blurry pictures if you go with mpix or whcc. something is definitely off with the final resolution of your photos when you get that message from them. upload to mpix and see if you get the same message there.

keep us posted.

Flikr is resizing my fianal Versions....when I save to my computer and they upload to walgreens, walmart or cvs the picture is small. Im taking pictures of a family and they want the pictures printed. and yes i do edit on flickr. is there another site i can edit at? I went to MPIX and they said resoution to low....but a picture that i have not edited dont say that

do you have gimp? its free and I know a lot of people have tried using it before to edit. I personally wouldn't use the flickr editing program thingy (picknik?).

I do know that the resolution has to do with the way you save your photos. I can't figure out how to change my resolution for my collages...hopefully I will soon. I hope you figure it out too! GL!

yes..it takes some getting used to. I'm sure it will be a bit hard at first but any new program is hard at first. Just play around with it when you have time and maybe even google GIMP tutorials? to help out? I have never tried it but some ladies on here have Smile I think I did try it once but gave up after a minute but that was only because I am way too familiar with Photoshop Lol

I let them color correct.

do you want to email me one of the pictures to double check things for you? I definitely noticed the difference in resolution between your edited and non-edited files.

I know GIMP is confusing. If you want some simple edits (real basic), you could use Picasa by Google. That's what I used to use before I bought Elements.
