Books! And new speedlite?

First of all I want to buy new books. Maybe 2 or 3. I'm going to try to keep it under $100. Here is my wish list http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/wishlist/760098/Loida-Garcia I think I want to buy the "Speedliter's Handbook". I just don't know if it's worth it. I'd love to learn how to use my speedlite more efficiently though. It's $50. I also want to get a few books on poses for men and women and some wedding photography books. Since I'll pretty much be teaching myself I thought buying more books would be a good start. Smile I love all of these books though! I just went and deleted some that I don't need. The business book on the list is for much MUCH later but I just kept it on the list.

Was also talking to DH about buying another speedlite. I'd LOVE to be able to do off camera flash. Maybe buy a shoot through umbrella. I only have the 430ex. I want to buy the 580ex II. What do you think? I can't really afford a new lens right now (darn it!!) I would LOVE a zoom lens but I'm thinking I should save up for an L lens. Right? I hope I can rent a lens this summer though. That would be neat Smile

So any of you recommend any of the books in that link? I can't wait to start reading Biggrin btw I love that site! Free shipping worldwide! Means a lot more to me I think though since it costs an arm and a leg to ship things to Norway Lol

I am looking at L lenses too but only to go with my new camera(shhh its a secret but its big)

I would love to look at the wedding ones but only cos they'd be pretty I would hate to photograph a wedding

Good luck with your choice Biggrin

Yeah I just put together a lot of books that sounded interesting. Smile I want to just buy 5 or so though. I just don't know which ones! btw is there anyone on this board who does like taking wedding photos? lol so far everyone has said they don't like it and I just jumped right on in last summer at my friends wedding and I absolutely loved it even though I hardly had anything to eat and was running around all over the place Smile

Don't get me wrong. I think anyone who can/could photograph a wedding has to be very prepared and very good which I think that you are certainly both.
Me its too much responsibility. I mean you can do a baby shoot or a cake smash and if something goes wrong you could re-shoot. Weddings you get one shot only!
From what I saw of the last wedding I would think you can do that for sure. just way too much pressure for me.

I cant wait to see what you can do at more weddings Biggrin

Smile I look forward to it! I've gone ahead and saved some books in my cart at amazon. (6 i think). Amazon is so much cheaper than that other site. So I ended up getting an extra book. I'm mostly buying wedding books but there's stuff in there that can go towards other types of photography as well. I'd really love to get into it more. What I fear is doing an indoor wedding someday. I have NO idea how I'll be able to handle that. But...baby steps Wink
