My DF claims that he's calibrated my monitor but I know it could be better because it gives me eyeache (is that even a word? ) and I'm pretty sure my colours are off - does anyone have tips on what I can do to get the screen right for photo editing? I don't want to spend hours playing with photos just to have them all wrong!
I searched through the tutorials in the sticky and couldn't see any advice there - either I'm stupid and missing it or it's somewhere else or it isn't there at all! Can anyone point me in the right direction if it is there?
Thank you all
how did he calibrate? by eye alone or with hardware? if it's eye alone (meaning, he looked at it and made adjustments), it probably is off. I have the Spyder2 Express that I got for about $50. it's easy!

I use Spyder 3 Pro.. it's around $150- give or take a few bucks. It's GREAT. You answer a few questions in relation to your monitor and it's available settings, then you use the device they give you that you actually attach to your screen, calibration is done automatically...
Wow. Well I'm enjoying this thread since I've been shopping for callibration software myself. What is the difference between Spyder 2 Express and Spyder 3 Pro? Is it just that the calibration is automatic with the Pro?
