Has anyone ever had a lens that won't come off? I can't get my 50mm lens to come off the camera. I don't know what to do???
I have a Canon Rebel XS EOS SLR the lens is a Canon 50mm. I know I lined it up right when I put it on. It takes pictures with the lens on. It just won't come off!
I never have but you may want to state your camera's brand and model #.

I googled this and it does seem like it's happened before. Is your lens release button stuck? Some posters suggested switching your your AF to MF (or vice versa) and trying that, too. Otherwise most just suggested holding the lens release and slowly wiggling. Yikes.
I've had the lens for a month now and haven't had an issue, though it's pretty much stayed on my XT permanently since then! Maybe I should go make sure mine comes off!
I also found this on another forum:
"Twist it back the other way,(fully on) point the camera upwards and try to take the lens off again while the body is flat on the table. If it still does not come off, twist the lens to back on and then face the camera DOWNwards and try again.
You might have a screw that worked loose like my 75-300 did. Or one of the pins came loose. If that does not work, send it in to Canon and let them take it apart. "
Did you manage to get it off?
I sure hope so!
and happy (belated) anniversary! DH and I just had ours on the 18th (though we've got a few more years on you guys ).
