I recently upgraded from a Rebel XT to the 50d. Instead of opening files up directly in PS, I have to open them in the Canon software, send them over to PS, and then I cannot save the original, but make a copy, send BACK to the Canon software where I can save as a JPEG. Is there a better way to do this? The files are huge tiff files. Also, my biggest complaint is when sending them to PS I cannot open them in ACR--how on earth can I open a RAW tiff file in ACR?
With my Rebel they opened right up in ACR, and they were not tiff files. Is this what I get for formatting my card? I never formatted before, but thought for some reason I should.
Not sure about the .tiff files, but when I got my new camera I had to download the latest ACR upgrade off the Adobe site. It is free. You may just have a version of ACR that came out before your camera.
