work has been nuts for me again this week (and will continue to be that way for another couple of months ... I can hardly wait for October to get here so I can breathe again). When I get stressed, I find one of the best ways for me to unwind is to work on something creative. I like to scrapbook, but as I'm stuck at the computer for most of the day, I don't get a chance to pull out my paper and glue very often. SO ... I've been plowing through the 3 memory cards I filled up of my pals at Windy Sport & Fitness and playing with their pictures as time allows.
Here's my latest effort:
I'm actually pretty happy with this one. It's one of the few times what I saw in my head is pretty close to what I ended up with on on the screen.
As always, I appreciate any feedback you guys might have.
TIA,
GiGi
I love the colors and the kicking action shot! I am a little bit wondering why the other image is cramped into the corner with some knee & heel cut off though? If you have a whole shot of him, could you make it whole but still in the corner?
I love that shaped shadow effect you added too! wow!![]()
I agree about the shadow effect - it's really cool!
The colors are really cool too. Are you planning on presenting these to the teachers there to use as marketing tools? If so, you should use their company colors ad nauseum. Perhaps you have been doing that already (I know I've seen red before). Speaking as a marketing professional, it would be awesome if there was a continuity between all the collages that ties them all in to the corporate identity.
Of course, if you're just doing this for fun, and they don't plan to really use them for recruiting, or whatever, then go nuts! They're all very nice looking!

My "babies" are Abigail (6/06) and Caleb (1/08 )
you really rock with the shadows and action!!! this is really neat!
the heel/knee chop is the only thing that jumped out of me ... but if that's a camera crop, so be it.
I like the two very different aspects presented here.
Love the colours and the action shots you do are always amazing!
Thanks everyone.
These collages have all been 'just for fun' or for 'outside' use by the clients (one guy used it for his personal website). I'm in a holding pattern w/ the shots we took for them to use for the gym publicity while they work out some issues w/ their web design folks. I've tried to make each one fit their personality since it's all be for fun/personal use. It also gives me different looks to present on my own website.
As for the foot/knee chop. The foot is chopped in camera, but not the knee. That was done b/c when I moved him away from the edge, it felt off balance. This position was a compromise.
Anyway ... again, thank you all for your feed back. I've really been having fun w/ these images (if you can't tell).
Best,
GiGi
I can see what you mean about that....because his left arm runs parallel to the edge of the collage nicely.
Nothing to add, just wanted to say great job!
