Cattails

I took this photo yesterday while on a walk in the gorgeous weather. It's the first time I've been able to get a shot like this! I finally knew enough of what to do to get it the way I wanted it Wink CC is always welcome!

I really like the blueness of the sky and the angle! The only thing that bothers me is that horizontal branch on the bottom.

I was thinking the same thing about the bit on the bottom that went horizontal. Thanks for the CC!

same here, I LOVE the shot if only that branch could come out. Great job with everything else!

I like what you were going for, the blue sky behind the cattails...but the photo doesn't do much for me (JMHO). I think it is the comp. I am not sure how to explain it, maybe with cattails I just like to see either more detail (in which case I'd do fewer # of stalks), or alternatively more of their surroundings.

That said, I think if it were my pic I would crop a little closer to get rid of the horizontal blade at the bottom AND the broken stalk off to the right, so that the main 6 cattails here would be arranged more in thirds horizontally.
