Cassandra- you are doing so well! I can't believe how much you have improved already! Just wait until you get that DSLR!!! Biggrin

I really like your final edit. The noise remover helped a lot and you did a good job brightening up the pic. Well done!

definitely can tell you ran the noise remover. Smile don't you love it? what a cutie.

I can't answer the sharpening question. I almost never sharpen for print, but one of these days I definitely need to experiment and have some photos sharpened and print before and after. I just don't know. I do try to sharpen for web before I post pictures though, as I do notice a difference when I don't.

Good job! I love noiseware stuff! I am not sure about sharpening though as I think that neat image adds some sharpening already, or at least has a sharpen option I think (I use a different software now)

That looks great Cassandra...a huge improvement. You're edit isn't bad either. Maybe a touch red or magenta, but you'd know best what his skin really looks like.

As for sharpening...I don't sharpen for print any more than what I have my RAW settings automatically set to. Since you're working with a point in shoot and shooting in JPEG...your camera already applies sharpening to the image so I wouldn't do any more sharpening.

As for sharpening for web...yes...everyone who shrinks down the size of their image from the original size to be viewed on the web should be sharpening for web viewing.

I know I am late on this one, just wanted to pop in and say I see alot of improvement. Thanks for sharing the before and after with neat image. I am gonna have to go out and find that to download. Was it free?

Neat Image has a free "demo" version for PC...but the demo is almost full functioning. The limitation is that it can only process JPEGs. The Mac demo version is terrible and will only work on a very small portion of each image...useless!
