#1 - Great focus and conversion! I agree with the other CC on this one.
#2 - I too like the mood, and agree about liking the b&w better.
#3 - Yeah, I'm not sure exactly how to change the color. Maybe a paint bucket? Select the same yellow color, and fill it?
#4 - Very nice! Like the edit on it. The only thing is that I wish that bright spot in the bg wasn't there. It's catching my eye a little too much.
Okay, I don't have anything besides vacation shots for any CC. I was REALLY frustrated with my camera the entire trip. And the only nice lens I have is my 50mm, which is way too tight in small spaces to use, so that didn't help with getting light in only using my kit 18-55mm. I HATE using my flash, even in snaps, so I got mad at my camera quite often when we were in restaurants and such and I needed to use it ;) I'm taking all my birthday money and putting it toward my new camera fund. I'm about $600 in, and still a LONG ways off from the 6D that I want. I'm hoping that Drew gets a nice bonus this year LOL!
Anyway, I didn't get as many shots around the World as I would have liked because of how busy it was. I did manage a few though. I am by no means a landscape photographer, so I'd love some feedback on these. I struggle so much with comp on landscapes. I just can't "feel" it, if that makes any sense. I can look at a scene and think it's beautiful, but I can never figure out how to capture it in my camera.

I'm the most happy with this one. I took my time, since I had it, while waiting on Drew and Carson to finish up a ride Jackson was too small for. Just wish I was there at golden hour instead of mid-day.

Steph, I think you did a great job with these. It can be really, really tough to capture things like this well, and you did an awesome job!
#1 is beautifully composed and exposed. I definitely would close down the ap more, but at least at this size, you can't see any real softness anywhere, so it still works.
#2 is so great of the castle, against that awesome blue sky. I would've liked to see the castle more in the line of thirds on the left, so that we could've seen more of the fall decorations; but maybe that wasn't very possible?
#3 would've been much better at golden hour, I agree. It's nicely composed and well done, just a bit flat. (But since I take most of my landscapes in mid-day because that's when I'm out and about with the kids, that happens to me ALL the time, too!)
Yes, I wish I would have been paying attention a little better in #2. I have several shots, but I was walking and shooting at the same time, trying to book it to the rides before the park closed (it was closing at 7 that night for the Halloween party).
Steph, walking and shooting makes it hard, for sure! You did a great job. :)
I don't have a lot from this past week. Brutal cold and house guests. But here's a couple of shots I'm debating between for a "yellow" challenge. Which is better?

#3. And I also have this one from a couple of weeks ago. Hard to see at this size, but there's just the tiniest sliver of the moon in the sky. I don't have settings immediately handy for this.

1. This one is probably my fave. I love what you captured here.
2. This might be me but I feel like this would be stronger if you were crouched down and shot whole bodies it would be better.does that make sense?
3. Again...might be me but I can't tell whats going on. I wish it was a closer crop with less trees on the left.
Tracy- To be honest, I would go with #1- love the sky here! I think it goes more with yellow. #3 is my next (LOVE THIS ONE!) but I feel like yellow is the last color noticed.
Tracy, I agree #1 but what about with a slightly crop??

#1 I like it. Colour is good, composition is pleasing. I love the contrast in the different textures and your whites are white without being blown. Good work.
#2 I know what these places are like, so it probably wasn't possible, but it might have been better if you could have changed your angle slightly so that the buildings created more of a line to the castle. I'm not keen on the colour but that castle is beautiful.
#3 Quite nice. I agree with Tracy that it is a little flat. If you had shot from a little lower down it might have had more of a 'wow' factor too, I think.
Ack!! I haven't been on the computer in a few days. My fily ce for a visit, and I have people staying in my house right now, making it hard. I'll see what I can do.
On that last one, it was taken from a bridge. It was the only place with that view unfortunately. Bit I totally get what you're saying. Man, I am still wishing that it wasn't so busy :(
Wow! Just noticed that auto correct really butchered that last post of mine! LOL!
I feel like the color is off in #1 just slightly. Maybe a little too blueish? But between this and #2 I like this one better.
#2 isn't a favorite of yours that I've seen. It's not bad. It's just not capturing me for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it though.
#3 is gorgeous! LOVE the colors and the little sliver of moon!
