#1 - This one just doesn't quite make it for me. The light is just almost there, but I think that the position of the sun in relation to the bush isn't ideal. I feel like the sun is shining directly on her a bit to directly making it seem a bit harsh on her. If it was off to her side just a little bit more, it would be a little softer. I kind of wonder if it would have worked better if she was looking out in front of her with her chin slightly up, instead of off to the side at the camera. Or, maybe with her hair behind her shoulder closest to the camera so you don't have half of it lit and the other half in shadow? Her face looks just a bit underexposed, and pink due to the cast from her shirt. Do you think you could burn the sky up near the trees where it's brighter? It's kind of creating a "glowing" effect that is distracting me just a little. It might be helpful to get rid of the random leaves that look like they're floating in the sky. Also, maybe clone out the leaves growing out of her belly ;) (I'm sorry! I'm just getting really nitpicky with you now :) )
#2 - I really like this! I agree with Tracy's comment about the legs being closer to the camera. That's all I have :)

Thank you, I was hesitant when this first started up since I don't usually get out for people photography, often enough to post once a week that is. Which day should I take for posting?
But now I do have some pretty recent sessions I could post for cc including Eva's recent fall ones. I will also be doing her Christmas ones soon, as well as a family photo of some friends next weekend....and a handful of other Christmas pictures of friends/family.

Looks like the regular posters right now are on Monday-Wednesday and Saturday. So go ahead and choose one of the other days for yourself :)

I'm in a bit of a funk, been so busy with finishing my advent calendar project and annoyed with lousy weather, I haven't taken much. But here are a few anyway. I could use some CC on all of them as I'm not sure any of them really work (though Amy complimented one of them on Flickr this morning, which encouraged me!). Sorry, no settings at the moment, I can add if needed, but I'm in a rush to get the kids up and go to Bible study later!

#3. Taking great photos of poinsettias is actually pretty hard. Some flowers are so easy, and some are just NOT!

#1 - I really like the light and the colors here! Gosh, I love fall :) I like the placement of the middle leaf, since the dark behind it provides a little contrast, yet you still have the light coming through. The leaf on the right has a little too much brightness. But that's getting a little nitpicky :)
#2 - Oh, I just wanna scoop that kid up and hug him! He's always so adorable! I really like this one in b&w. Very nice job on the conversion!
#3 - I've never tried taking photos of poinsettias before, but now that you mention it, I can see how it would be difficult! I think the color on this is amazing. Such a deep rich red without being blown. I like how you got in close for it.
I think it's easy to get in a slump in the winter. I'm hoping to take advantage of our large dining room window once it gets too cold to take the kids out for photos. I need to go search on Pinterest for some more inspiration. I haven't been feeling particularly creative lately, either.

I LOVE #1 as you know, the colors and bokeh are amazing and I love the shadow of the branch showing behind the top/left leaf. I don't mind the extra light behind the right leaf.
I also LOVE #2, in both color and B&W! Although his cheek looks very bright as do several areas at the bottom of the pic. I still love it though and I think once you converted it, some of those bright spots became slightly less severe-looking.
#3 has great color but doesn't work a lot for me, it's just hard to tell that it is what it is, not sure how to describe it.
