Stephanie- I agree, LOVE #1! He looks so sweet and innocent, but then the boo-boo lets you know he's alllll boy!
#2 is busy. It's the dappled light that throws it off.

Tracy- I think Ruthie's pretty tall for her age. The boy I was talking about that just lost his tooth is shorter than Ruthie, so I think she has long legs. NOT like me though! I am so short!

I like the brightened version better, Steph. Looks great!

I have no kid photos to share this week... except the one of Nora with a big scrape on her forehead, but it's not CC worthy! So I'm going to share some landscapes from this past weekend -- I know which one I like best, and there are elements I like about two of them, but I'd like some feedback. They were taken about 30 minutes apart during the golden hour. I also have a still life for something different.

    #3. f22, SS 1/4, ISO 100, FL 18mm

    #2. f22, SS 0.4", ISO 100, FL 18mm

    #3. f22, SS 0.6", ISO 100, FL 18mm

    #4. f18, SS 1/50, ISO 2000

#1 - This is my least favorite of the landscape's. The only reason why is because of the scattered vegetation on the bank. I feel like it breaks the photo up a little too much.

#2 - My favorite. Love the color, the clouds in the sky, the comp. Beautiful!

#3 - Very close 2nd favorite The purple color you captured is so pretty! I like the serene feel I get from it with the way the long exposure captured the water, and the position of the rocks. Very nice!

#4 - As a flute player myself, I really like this I can see this hanging on the wall in a music studio.

YES Stephanie! LOVE the new edit!

Tracy- WOW! I love these! I have to agree completely with everything Steph added. I don't have anything else really. #2 & 3 are AMAZING!

Thanks so much for the CC! I wasn't sure about #1 either, so that confirms it. Awesome!

I am so behind on CC that I am embarrassed to poke my head back in here.

    Amazing work, ladies!

Shadow Grey, I'm gonna go back and look at your previous posts, they are on the other page, but

Jennifer, I have the problem with "too much light" in a room sometimes...and really I think the problem is that the light isn't as directional as it should be. I have also read that having sheers (sheer curtains) on the windows will help diffuse the light nicely. All that said, I think nice job on #1! Catch lights are nice ... I think it looks good. #2 = ADORABLE! Love the tutu and rainbow leggings. I agree with Sadie that it is a little too yellow for my taste, but love the saturation of the other colors!

Stephanie, is that stitches in your little man's head? Poor baby (and mama!) - your edit of that close up is dialed in. ITA that it needed to be brightened a little. The second shot is nice, but it is hard to feel the same connection to it that I feel to the close up, kwim?

Sadie, I'd love to see the b&ws in color...bright patchwork and all! But I do like the edits with more contrast. And I adore Randy sitting with his boots/toy gun! I think after having a girl(s) it is going to be more difficult for me to want to go out and get pictures of Wade since I won't have a new dress for him all the time. I personally, don't think it is mommy goggles at all. I would possibly add a touch more contrast or blacks...but it might be hard without losing the clarity in his eyes. Anyway, love that one!

Tracy, I just adore your pictures. ITA that #1 doesn't evoke much of any type of reaction in me, although it is technically fine. #3 though, just looks so SERENE and peaceful and you captured some of the movement in the water. I love it! #4 = fantastic! No cc on that. I agree, this is one for your photo cards or poster or something. Very, very pretty!

All taken with my 85mm, 1.8

    1. f/3.2, ISO-200, 1/800

    2. Not 100% sure here on settings, but probably around 2.8-3.2, ISO-2000, and shutter speed of 1/150+

    3. Same as settings above, but with a higher shutter speed I am sure. I know I shared this on FBF, but I wanted some CC too please!
