Here are some pictures I shot for CC.
#1 - F2.8, ISO 100, SS 1/160
#2 - F2.8, ISO 100, SS 1/160
#3 - f2.8, SS1/100, ISO 100

El, these are great!
#1 - I'd just straighten it, and maybe crop out a bit on the top of the frame. Love the pose, and the "stud" look on his face
#2 - Again, I really love this one! That smile and pose is an awesome combo.
#3 - My least favorite. I think it's just the way he is standing, with his head leaning back making his chin go in at a weird angle, and how his hand is up instead of relaxing down by his side. The background is a bit distracting, with the trash can (?) and the light.
El, I was going to say exactly what Steph said about all of them.
Except for the tilt, I love #1. It's such a great pose and expression. What a little man!![]()

El, you really know how to work those lines. Right down to the lines in the concrete in the second shot, beautiful.
#1 I love the composition. Do you think and plan all the aspects of these shots or does it start to come naturally after a while?
#2 the composition of this is fantastic. The lines, the colour, the light. I love it.
# 3 doesn't really work for me. The background is a bit busy / distracting and it seems more of a snap
Thanks everyone!
Shadow:
#1 cute pose but lighting is off, creating shadows across her whole eye area and jaw area. Also her shirt is too bright and the tilt is like Tracy said.
#2 and 3 I agree about not just putting them right in front of the wall flat. Angled creates much more interest and light/shadow. But the exposure and color and focus here are great!
El:
#1 beautiful!!!! I love the clarity, and the time of day, and the comp and pose.....I agree though that I would straighten it.
#2 perfect I think! Except I find myself missing the roof of the gazebo, which is probably pretty, but then your son would look too far away I know.
#3 I am not liking the hand being halfway up. I don't mind the lamp so much but I guess the trash can would not be good. I love the lighting and clarity and color though.
Thanks for the CC everyone. I didn't even notice the trashcan in #3 until y'all pointed it out... lol. Will clone it out.
#1 - no tilt...we were in a golf course and it dips down in the back. But I can straighten it out
Oh I see the tilt -- could be lens distortion... haha...
It is so much better having people see stuff that I don't...

-El mommy to B & A
Just chug-chug-chugging along.
I guess my day has rolled around again.
On Sunday, Nora asked to wear one of her 'fancy' dresses that she rarely gets to wear. I said yes, and before church I draped a white sheet over the back of our love seat and had her sit down near the window for a couple of pictures. I never did get a good one of her looking at me, but liked the feel of these. I did a dumb thing and left my ISO too high, BTW.
#1. Settings f/4.5, SS 1/320, ISO 1250, FL 35mm
#2. Settings f/4.0, SS 1/400, ISO 1250, FL 26mm
The next two were taken when we got our Christmas tree. (I know, kind of pathetic that there's no pics of the kids from that outing, but they are just snaps... not CC-worthy!)
#3. f5.6, SS 1/160, ISO 1000, FL 135mm
#4. Same settings as above

What a gorgeous dress, Tracy! The white sheet has a lot of uneven hotspots going on, and/or lots of pinkish brush marks visible. And the overall BG has a pink tint to it. The poses are very sweet though and I love the focus.
As you know, I am totally in love with #3, the first beautyberry shot--wowowowow do I love those colors, and everything else about it!!! I also love the last one, but for me the comp and bg of the first one is much more beautiful![]()

Possibly you can select the whole background (several ways to do that) and then fill it with (white)....
