cc on this impromptu snap from last night

I went to the local pond last night to try and find a nice bit of pond weed that I could collect for my tadpoles (yep, I'm that dedicated!). Zack wanted to come with me and my camera pretty much goes anywhere I go. I took just 2 shots and quite liked this one. Would love some feedback on it. It was taken about 10 minutes after sunset. Do the colours look ok (I'm not calibrated)? It's so hard to get right because he's so pale. They either look grey, magenta or yellow

It's hard to believe that earlier in my journey I probably would have had to take 20+ shots to get something like this Lol

Great snap! The lighting is beautiful. I might warm him up just a tad more, but otherwise, it's great!

???

Looks like he's looking at camera to me.

Lovely snap. I know what you mean about the 2 shots versus 20. I'm cleaning out the computer today...dumping lots of old RAW files and not up to snuff jpegs from 2009. It's AMAZING the difference in my photographs.

Your work is always beautiful.

LOVE IT! Great light, beautiful exposure, spot on focus.

WOW! And all that just on a quick trip out. Smile

I'm not calibrated either so can't comment on colour. It looks great to me though. I love the light across the water behind him

Hmmm... maybe it is my computer here at work - the resolution is all stretched out. From my screen it looks like he is looking to the left, away from the camera.

None the less I agree, work is always beautiful.

To me, it does look just a tad like he's looking to the left, now that I look at it too.

But I really love it! It's a beautiful capture -- great work!

(I'm still in the "20 shots for 1 good picture" phase, so I think it's totally awesome that you did such a quick snap while you were out and it looks so great!)

I think it's great! Especially since I, too, am in the 20:1 category Wink I hope that I'm able to get it on the first try like that one of these days!

Thanks everyone! A special shout out to Amber, I can't tell you how great I felt reading your comment as I have always admired your work.

As for where he is looking, I think something grabbed his attention at the very last second as I think he might be looking over my right shoulder. It is a close call though and it isn't enough to bother me (although I love candids, so would like it wither way I think).

I'm totally in love with the evening light on nice days.

I still totally overshoot - so be proud whether it took 1 or 20. You have a nice shot there. Smile
