CC please!

I feel like I've been struggling lately with my photos. I just feel like I'm not getting them very crisp. Could you guys help me out? Is it my focus, or is it my settings?

This is SOOC. Flickr seems to have made it look sharper than it does straight from the computer.

0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 55 mm
ISO Speed 200

And please CC on anything else that you notice as well!

Flickr sharpens a bit. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes horrible. Looks good, I would maybe brighten him up a teeny tiny smidge. And I would actually open your ap a bit and have the shutter speed a bit higher, but I love a wide open ap.

Very nice Stephanie! I agree about brightening his face up a bit. But it's a lovely capture!

I am thinking that's pretty nice bokeh for 5.6! He's a cutie and I agree about brightening him up though! Great photo!

I'm still learning but it looks like the jacket around his face is tack-sharp so my thoughts are: If his face was slightly forward of the jacket it may have just fallen just in front of the depth of field and you might have gotten it sharper if the camera was just a teeny bit further back. This depth of field calculator helps me a lot: http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html. Bumping up the ISO so you can up the shutter speed to at least 1/200 or 1/250 is helpful for wiggly babies and toddlers, too.

I think the focus looks great. Maybe a little brightening, but I would love to have focus in any of my photos like that Smile
