This is a photo from my son's first day of school yesterday. Can I please have CC and suggestions on how to make it better!
It was slightly underexposed SOOC so I corrected that and smudged the name of the school so it couldn't be identified. I haven't run it through noiseware but I can.
FL73mm, ISO500, SS 1/250, F5.6 (as wide open as I could go with that lens)

How does it look now? I really, really struggled trying to fix the colour. I think some of it must be from his blue top and hat as if I corrected more than a touch it started looking really yellow.
I'm open to other suggestions here. Be tough on me.

Wow! Great directional light, great catchlights, great smile! Really nice shot, Shadow!! My only really CC would be that I *think* his skin is a touch blue, but it is hard to tell for sure with the blue clothes and hat. It may be reflections from them, or his skin may be fine and just look a bit blue because of all of the surrounding blue. Not sure... I'm uncalibrated, and I suck at colour generally anyway.

Love the lighting here! My biggest CC is the blue, like Tracy pointed out, and the brightness in the background. Maybe you could burn the bright spots to tone it down a bit?
How would you correct the skin without adversely effecting the rest of the photo? I want to frame this one so trying to make it the best it can be.
I haven't done a lot of this, and I'm sure others can answer better, but I would duplicate the layer, modify the colour so you're happy with the skin tones, then use a layer mask to remove the other parts (clothing, etc.) of the layer.
If you haven't used masks before, here's one simple explanation/guide... there are lots out there:

I agree, great lighting! My only other cc is that the hat "touching" the edge of the pic bothers me a tad lol
Looks good to me, but my monitor is not calibrated.

Skin looks good. His clothes and hat is a little too blue. I might want to tone down the saturation/vibrance.
