Looking for CC on anything, blown, color casts, hit me. His shirt turned out quite blue in all of the shots, I've already tried to remove it a bit since it's a stark white shirt. These were pretty much all of the useable shots I got out of this location before DS was covered in mud and up to his ankles in the water. He was way more interested in throwing rocks than looking at the camera for sure.

I can't keep track of who shoot in RAW ... but if you shot in RAW, fixing his shirt would be easy because that's a WB issue.

I think the set is really nice! The sun's reflection on the water is blown, but I don't think that's a big deal. I mean, you don't really care so much about the detail on that part of the image. If this is true sunset, then I feel like the photos should be warmer (which would fix the blue in the shirt).

I love the second one best, just an adorable capture.

You're right, that totally fixed it Gwen. Thank you! I am so in the habit of having cool images, I think I must just truly prefer them. I just ordered my d700 (woot!) and ordered an expodisc to go along with it. Hopefully that will get me out of the habit. Recovery fixed the blown sunset too

Here is my re-edit. Now I see why I liked it cooler though. Now it just kind of looks like the muddy lake it is. It shows the sky was somewhat red/pink that night because it was a burn day.

I think thevtop back of his shirt is blown on both pictures. I do prefer the warmer version. His shirt still looks a tad blue still.

    Congrats on your new toy!

he does still seem a tad cool in the edit ... with a touch of magenta. I actually prefer the colors of the water in the first edits. Can you use the adjustment brush to just make changes in the water to make it look prettier? that's what I'd do, despite how it looks IRL.

I would totally do that Gwen, if I could figure out how to use the adjustment brush for WB! LOL. I'll spend some time tomorrow googling tutorials for adjustment brush, I just really can't stand ACR right now as opposed to how easy LR is.

I love these as a set, I know how HARD it is to get a toddler this age to look at the camera so love that he is doing his own thing. I haven't checked but the shirt looks a tad blown and like Gwen, I like the colour of the sky and water in the 1st edit.

I understand why you liked them cooler, I do too in terms of the sky and water, but I like him better warmer. I suck at editing, so I can't help you there, but I love these pics even though he's not looking. He is doing what boys are supposed to be doing!

CONGRATS on the new toy! ENJOY!

I tend to prefer the cooler as well. Maybe you could combine the two exposures in different layers and then mask out all but the areas you like in each layer.

Make sense? That's generally what I do as I haven't learned to use that brush either.
