I've been missing a lot of familiar faces around here! Anyone care to check in and maybe share a few photos (even if they're just snaps)? I love pictures! ...obviously... ha! I'd also love to hear from some of the "oldies" too that we haven't seen in a long time. I miss everyone! Let's get the board rolling again!
I guess I better "check in" seeing as how I started the post ;)
Before the move, I was keeping myself pretty busy with photo shoots with friends and friends of friends. Things came to a halt though, and I've been focusing on making friends at the moment. I really miss photographing others though. They're much more cooperative than my own family. Ha! I do have a photo shoot scheduled with another photographer back in IL over our Thanksgiving trip back home. I'm really looking forward to it. I absolutely love doing family portraits. Definitely my favorite, and I feel the most comfortable with it. Just the other day, I took some photos of my neighbor's little girls (and made her jump in them, of course). No plans on going into business any time soon, but I believe we're going to start looking into what it would take and see if it would be worth our time/money to try it out in the coming years. If I do it, I want to do it right. I'll just keep building my portfolio in the mean time.

I'm so glad that you're keeping so busy! Great sign! I hope that you continue getting sessions during the winter, and it only slows down slightly. You are really improving at a super fast pace! Much, much faster than I did! Keep it up! Let me know if you do one of those breakout sessions. I'd love to know what you think. So, do you love your Mk ii? I'm sure it was an amazing upgrade.
Ugh! I had typed up a reply and it disappeared.
Love the camera. I love the ISO range, since I still don't have confidence with flash photography. I'm also not having *as much* issues with the focus as I did with the Rebel. Still some, but they are correctable. It might have more to do with the lens that I got, though.
I really hope that I do slow down in the winter. I guess I can always say no ;) I need to take some time to study more. I just had my second wedding inquiry and she wants to meet next week about a June wedding. I'm thinking eeeeeeeeek- I need to study more! But then again, I seem to learn more and more with each session that I do.
I'm here. Busy and exhausted these days so I'm in full on lurk mode.

Great shots everyone! I love the one of the momma holding up her boy jessica...very sweet! And Stephanie I haven't been able to get any good macro shots of anything floraly....just babies so far. I can't wait for spring!
I've been pretty busy with photo shoots...and FINALLY my friend had her twin boys so i did a shoot for twin newborns! They were so tiny and skinny that we kept their bodies mostly covered with blankets until they fatten up a bit. They were take home twins but were like barely 5 lbs each...i felt so bad moving them around as much as i did and it was way less than a normal newbie shoot....
oh and pardon the different watermarks....i've been experimenting over the past week or so perfecting my mark....

Hi Amber!! Gosh, Nathan is looking so much older. How is James with his club foot? Did I mention that my brother had to wear a brace when he was little? He's perfectly fine now!
How exciting about the twin session! I would have been scared out of my pants! My last newborn was a tremendous struggle. I can't even imagine doing 2 at once! How's the baby?? Are the older kids settling in okay with him?
it was intimidating but it was a freebie session for a friend..i selfishly wanted it for my portfolio so at least there was less pressure, lol. New baby is doing well...except today he's glued to me since apparently he can't poop...ahhhh i'm going crazy. if he was my only kid in a nice clean house it'd be fine but i can't hold a baby all day with 2 other toddlers.Quote:
