Color opinions

So I'm terrible at color. Like really terrible. I really should make sure the monitor is calibrated, but it's a matter of finding it in the budget to buy a calibrator that works with this monitor that we have. So I know it's kind of silly of me to even ask about color since I'm not calibrated, but I'm going to anyway Wink

I'd love to know what you think of the color on these two images. I processed them at different times. The sitting up one was processed yesterday, and the one on his belly was processed just now. And I didn't compare the two at all.

It's weird that I'm having so many issues with color with these, because I usually get the absolute best color out of this room, since it's straight up grey walls. Maybe it's his outfit throwing it off? Guess I should have used the cheap grey card that came with my camera book? I guess I just thought I could use the walls for that...

I'm at work and on one of the worst monitors possible so take this with a HUGE grain of salt, but they look a touch magenta to me.

I'll look again when I get home and see if it still seems that way.

I love how soft his hair looks. Really makes me want to reach out and stroke his head. Wink

They're both close, but I like the second one. It seems to have just a touch more yellow, warms it up a little more.

Thanks ladies!! Tracy, did you see a lot of magenta too? I've been hearing a lot lately that mine are too magenta, so even though it's an in calibrated monitor, GiGi, you may be right. I was also leaning toward the color of the second one. Good to know I'm on the right track.

No, I'm not seeing magenta. But I'm uncalibrated. I usually use a color picker and a skin tones chart to help if I'm uncertain, because of being uncalibrated.
