Could use some CC please!

So I decided to try my hand some more at this speedlite. I set up a blanket hanging over a fold up drying rack (LOL!) in front of our sliding glass doors, and put Jackson in the Radio Flyer Coupe (so he wouldn't crawl away Wink ) so I could practice. How'd they turn out? What do I need to work on? I'm also intereted in your take on the color. I messed with the color of one of them, but left the other two. Oh, and he wasn't really in the mood to make anything other than silly faces, but I did manage to get 2 (half) smiles. Haha!

This is the one I messed with the color on. I'm not much of a savvy Photoshop person, so I just went in and did the remove color cast. Is he too pink or just right?

Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 79 mm
ISO Speed 400

I did not mess with the color on this one, just brightened it up a tad.

Didn't mess with the color on this one either. Just brightened.

No time for detailed CC...but just wanted to say that you did great with the flash. Nice catchlights, good even lighting.

They look good!! Can you tell us more about the flash settings? (I don't have one but am interested in getting one in the near future) for instance, how do you compensate for the flash when choosing shutter speed? or does the flash decide for you? which speedlite do you have?

I agree, it looks like you are on the right track! Good job! I really like the expressions you caught! The coloring looks fine. To me, they look the same in coloring, just the last two are brighter.

Haha! It's funny that you're asking ME that Wink Honestly, I've just really started using it! I bought it back in the beginning of March, right before Jackson was born, but never really took the time to learn anything about it.

It's a Canon 430 EXII. From what I've been learning about it, and from what I've seen it do on auto settings, I've tried keeping the SS around 60. I usually bouce the flash off the celing or the wall behind me. I believe the flash has some special settings on it itself, but I haven't tried messing around with those (maybe I should???). I just stick the flash on, and go to town.

Thanks for the comment on the color! Sometimes it's hard for me to see! I can definately tell a difference in the "preview" of it, but I never know if it's off after I do it!
