Default A couple pics...would love your thoughts

CC Welcome! I've been practicing with the kids. Infact, they are starting to LOVE photo sessions Here are just a couple I've taken lately...

Also, I have a question. To me my son's face is super red in all the pictures. How do I fix that or prevent it from happening in the future?

Ok, I know I chopped his head off but still love this shot

Got all of his head but his hair is all fuzzy and OOF

Last one...I don't know I thought it looked kind of cool but it's real "grainy" if that makes sense

Hi there! Great job getting out there and practicing. I think all of your pictures are OOF, what type of camera are you shooting with? You have an eye for composition, so that's a great start. Your kids are so adorable! I would practice a little more on your focus, then move on to some of the other photography principles and concepts. TFS!

The "graininess" you seem to get a lot is called noise. I'm guessing your camera was pushing itself to get a decently exposed picture in a low light situation.

All of your pics are definitely OOF - can you post your settings?

I agree about the overall good comp. And your DS' curls are to die for! My DS has a curly top too, and I just love it!

Cute kiddos! I agree with other ladies...posting your settings will really help us to give you suggestions to get them a little better exposed and in focus! Thanks for sharing!

Head chops are okay...it's definitely the focus that needs work. Looks like pretty standard p&s shots. Are you shooting in manual? Settings would be helpful so we can give the best advice, but I can tell you that it looks like camera shake or motion blur is what's creating the oof issues. You need to keep the shutter speed over 1/125 for children. For camera shake, you need to keep the SS at least as high as the lenses focal length.

I can't add anything to what others have said, but your kids are really cute and I also like the one of your daughter leaning on the church pew. I sure wish my kids would enjoy having their pictures taken as much as it sounds like yours do!
