Does anyone else feel this way?

Sometimes, before a shoot, I struggle. I don't want to go. I don't find it exciting. Last night was like this. But, once I got there, I had fun working the camera. I don't feel confident yet, so I know this is the reason. I was supposed to be shooting 6 kids, and two adults. I was beyond nervous. But, once we got started and we laughed, we had a great time. I wasn't as nervous. I came home feeling much better.

Is this common?

Yes....always! I feel less apprehensive before a headshot session because I consistently nail them now, but before a portrait session I often hope they'll just call and cancel. LOL I get so worried that I'm going to mess it up and have no ideas once we get to the location.

When you say you hope they will call and cancel- that was EXACTLY what I felt last night. I was honest, and told them I was nervous, but they were so easy going. We lost the light so fast, so I worry I didn't nail it, but I know they will be pleased.

All the time.

It does get easier but I still worry I'll come home and everything will be bad, out of focus or the card will be corrupted somehow.

In fact I am constantly surprised with my images t the end lol.

The wedding last saturday I was so beside myself I forgot to eat or drink anything the whole day.

xx

Yup, every single time I go to take photos for someone I tell DH I want to call and cancel. Of course, I have a good time and end up (most of the time) liking what I got. But, that initial jump is the worst!
