I know the comp on this photo is not the best but my clients are totally in love with this photo. Something bugs me, and maybe it is the comp, or the desat look that I am not too sure I like. However, I'd love any opinions! THX!

it just looks too bright to me.
Yep, too bright for me too.
I can see why your client likes this picture, but agree with pp. Can you possibly post the sooc? I wonder how that photo would look with more of a vanilla bw instead...? I'd clone out the black part of her shirt (?) there on the left side. It sticks out to me a bit. Love those eyes, that's the dark part of the picture I want to be drawn to.
I just wanna hold that lil baby!
Beautiful picture! I ditto trying a more vanilla bw instead. I tend to steer towards bright pictures myself, so it doesn't really bother me, but that's just me.![]()
Hmmm, it's looking kind-of rosey to me, but I'm on my uncalibrated monitor at work. Agree it is a little bright too.

LOVE Erica's b&w! The babe looks red in the pic though...I know it's hard with newborns.
Here is my play. Have to be honest...it was quite a bit of work. Mostly it entailed removing red and restoring the color balance. I used almost every color tool available in photoshop to delicately reduce red while trying to not completely destroy skin tone.
I also used a skin smoothing action from one of the Totally Rad action mixes called Pro Retouch.
and then I turned that into a chocolate bw using the action that Molly posted a long time ago:
