    Default eye popping?

I took some nice shots of DD the other day and her eyes look great! In the ones that were actually in focus anyway but I was trying to make them pop but i didn't get very far. I used to have a way of making them pop, sorta, but I forgot how. (that's what I get for not playing with PS for awhile) Any of you have any tutorials or methods or tell me how you make the eyes pop? I would love for her eye color to come out more....does that make sense? Would appreciate it thanks!

most methods use an high pass layer (located under filter>other>high pass) radius 10. done in overlay mode (WAY down like 10% or less)and then use a "hide all" layer and use a white paint tool to uncover the eyes and whatever else you want accentuated.

A method I picked up on ILP is drawing a figure eight on the eyes and making a layer copy of that and chaging it to screen layer and from there masking back the rest of the eyes.

but if it's color you're looking for, you should use the saturate tool as a really quick fix.

whoa!!! I just learned a ton! If I hadnt read the replies to this thread, I would have said to lasso them, slight curves layer, then a slight saturation layer, with a feather of about 25 or so. Im going to try these out tonight! If my kids will let me of course...

kelly that is exactly what I use to do! i have been doing something similar lately but using the lasso around the eyes and cutting it to a new layer thanks!
