I've really been wanting to get some fall photos of the kids, but we have been so busy and it's been SO wet here. Next week we're going away and this weekend it's all rain, soooooo... today, I had 30 minutes only, and so I walked them down the street to a less-than-ideal spot and took some shots. I'd love some CC on these. I was struggling a bit with the colour on them, for one thing. The spot isn't great, unless I had a different lens or could stand in the middle of the street! But I managed to get a couple of keepers of Nora close-up at least, and some fun ones. I took mostly Nora as she was in a cooperative mood and I don't get as many of her now that she's in school. I can give settings if anyone wants them. #1. I think this is my new favourite Nora shot!#2.

Oh I like them all! I wish we had trees that had colorful leaves in the fall.. All we have are leaves that turn brown. blah! -- oh, and pine straw... double blah!
Some of them look a little on the yellow or greenish yellow side to me... but I do tend to like mine a little bluer than most I think. I personally like the color in 4 and 5 the best. 1 is adorable! Her smile is just so perfect in 4, and I love the fun action in 5. I would have liked to have seen them more to the left of the frame, but the tree helps to balance that out a little too IMO. I can see how some might not like the framing in 6, but to me it's perfect. I like the my side vs your side feel it gives off.
If I had to pick an overall favorite, I'd say 4.
Great job with these! They're all winners
I agree that they're on the yellow side. Compared to the rest, #4 is a little bit too bright. Other than those two things, I've got nothingLOVE #1 and #2!
Thanks, that makes my day that you guys like them. I feel like I'm getting the hang of portraits... I have a long way to go, but it's beginning to come a little. It helps that Nora is able to follow direction a little more now, at least when she's motivated. She listened quite well yesterday, especially while on the ground with her face in the leaves.
Yeah, I figured they were too yellow, but sometimes my eye gets almost confused or tricked after I've been looking at them for a while. The thing is, it must be the yellow colour cast from all the leaves, because normally my white balance setting was perfect for the situation. Ah, one more reason I really want a grey card!!
Anyway. I suck at colour-correcting, but are these OK now, or still too yellow? or too blue now? or ???????

#2. The colour still looks off in this one, though I applied the same corrections to it as to the others? Her hair is throwing me. It looks pretty magenta or something.

#4. Also took the brightness down a notch on this, per Steph's CC.

TIA, I sure do struggle with colour for some reason - I really appreciate the input!!

Bumping up to say that if anyone could look at the colour-corrected versions and let me know if they're any better, I'd sure appreciate it!

The color looks better on the new edits as far as the yellow goes. Though, the last one still looks too yellow to me. I'm wondering if you posted the original again by mistake. But now, I'm seeing a bit too much magenta. Again, not calibrated, so maybe someone else can confirm?
These are all adorable! I agree, they all look plenty cooled off now except the last one. The warmth in #1's edit is PERFECT to me.
Personally I prefer the wood to be warmer overall especially in #5 it looks overly cool now.
The edits look a lot better. But I agree about the last photo still looking a bit too yellow. I would suggest lowering the contrast a bit on some of these pictures. I see the blacks are getting clipped. Nice job!
