family with 3 kids *MORE PICS #20*

I had a practice session with a friend's family with 3 kids, ages 14, 4, and 1. Pretty good spread on the ages! Here are the first 5 that I have processed. Would love some cc. Somehow I ended up with a bazillion pics from this one!

I realize that the background on this is blown. I actually blew it in ps on purpose because it was just a washed out high-rise back there that did nothing for the pic. I was going to bring the level down to 248 for printing. Will that work?

Oh I really like these.

# 1 is my fave

I love the blown sky as it pronounces the subjects brilliantly

I really like them all

Nice! I want your 5dm2. Smile

I'd up the blacks or neutrals in selective color layer. Great job!!

what a beautiful set of kids!!! the blown background one isn't showing for me though. Sad

love the first one, but the girl seems kind of pink to me. when I compare her face to the solo one of her, just seems like her tones might be off in that first one.

can't wait to see more!

Great job. I agree with Stacey about upping the black. The shirts, not sure if some spots are blown or not, but they seems really bright.

I am going to try out upping the blacks. I agree they need more contrast. The shirts aren't blown. I check by reopening them in ACR after I finish pping.

What do you think about this? I added an overlay layer at very low opacity. Still not there?

Thanks Stacey! I appreciate you coming back here!

Her you go. I upped the blacks on this one and I think that it looks better. I think this was the one that needed it the most, correct?

I think the new edit looks great!

I still can't see the second picture though, Flickr says it was deleted?

These are awesome! I love your last edit, and the single ones of the kids are all great. That first one is precious.

Yes! Looks great. I also find upping blacks in the neutral color works well too.

Finally got around to processing more of these so here are a few more. I know there are a few limb chops and a boy running away from the camera (there was jsut a thread on ILP about how these are not portfolio worthy) but I still liked them. Some were in shade but some were in full sun, ugh!

These are fantastic! I wouldn't change a thing. That last re-edit is my fav of the bunch. What a cutie and you did an awesome job with focus and bokeh.

No I wasn't clear. Some I believe are portfolio worthy, but there was recently a thread on ILP about how kids running away from the camera shouldn't be included in a pre-pro set or a professional portfolio.

Ahhh, I read that thread I think, was it part of the thread with the pic of a snapshot of a girl on a horse? Shame really as I love pics of babies/toddlers crawling or running away from the camera, but I guess I can see the point that almost anyone can take that kind of shot (although not everyone can do it in a nice artistic way, lol!)
