The wonderful lady who babysat Eva for almost 2 years has asked me if I'd take some Christmasy photos of her 3 kids (ages 7 months, 6 years, and 8 years) and maybe a couple with her & her husband and the kids all together. (a little background---earlier in the year she had casually mentioned maybe having me take pics of her baby boy after he was born in March, but we never got around to it over the summer)...but now I'll have a chance
At first I assumed she'd want indoor shots, but she said she is thinking of outdoor shots as long as we have a good-weather day on a weekend coming up in the next few weeks. I told her sure as long as it's not windy! LOL
So, I know the basics of time of day, lighting angles, etc. but will have to get some posing ideas....especially since they'll have the baby too.
Any tips would be great from all you wonderful gals! I have the 50mm 1.8, and the kit lens (18-55 Canon)
I haven't done a family with a young baby yet ... but I think it will be a fun opportunity for you. check Flickr for family poses with baby. when are you doing it?

It'll be in November...we haven't picked an exact date, we'll have to pretty much play it by weather....I will definitely check out Flickr
OH good luck!!! Great opportunity and I'm sure they will LOVE whatever you come up with! i am itching to take someones Christmas pictures but I don't know anyone around here I have no tips since I am BAD at posing. But I'm guessing they will all be wearing Christmasy colors? Matching? that's always so much fun!
Flickr is a ton of resource in terms of posing. I would hop on over to ILP also and just do a search! Good luck, can't wait to see your shoot!

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
Thanks everyone!!! Unfortunately I heard from her again today that now her husband would rather take the baby to the studio like they usually do, it being the baby's first Christmas and all she said she was so sorry and that she didn't think it mattered to her husband because she's the one who always takes the kids for pics lol....but that I could still do some kids pics if I was excited about it...she loves my pics.....I told her it's ok I understand but thanks for thinking of me.
Ahhhh well, what can you do! I'm still going to have a ton of fun doing Eva's pics!!
This reminds me that I never did show you those anniversary-couple photos that I did way back in April. I had a few decent ones and the couple was happy!...I never did ask if it'd be ok to post them here though.
Bummer!! I'm sorry. Maybe they'll keep you in mind for the spring time?

I'd just take the compliment that she asked you in the first place and concentrate on that. Do some super cute stuff with Eva and she'll be so jealous she didn't go with you afterall.
