Here are a few more pics from when I was using my Fuji S5100....(these were resized for web)
This 1st one was inside the very small Sites Homestead (circa 1839) near Seneca Rocks, WV last summer. I used shutter-priority and while I was comfortable using it by that point, I hadn't yet learned the technically correct way of using all the exposure settings of any camera. I wanted to capture the natural incoming sunlight and I do like the pic, although it obviously wasn't focused sharply. It looks like a painting at 100%, actually lol
This last one I love because I love metallic insects--the way the light changes their shimmery color at different angles....and these little Long-legged Flies are only about 5mm long and can move SO fast you wouldn't believe it. They dart away in a millisecond. Very hard to photograph!

The fly is my favorite, too! Beautiful colors!
What do you use for your bird shots? I've been practicing bird feeder shots with my 58-200 but hope to get a lens that will allow me to get closer shots.

Thanks! With my Fuji (which has 10x by itself), I used the Raynox DCR-2020, Pro 2.2x Telephoto attachment for bird photos. For as cheap as it is I think it has good potential, and I've gotten some good bird shots with it. I need to use it more. It's hard for me to get out to photograph birds now that I have a toddler. But I did also use it for work to document wild pheasants and used it behind a blind, on a tripod. When I was near shrubby spots, the curious little songbirds would peek in from very close positions so I got some very-closeups of them that way!
Now that I have the Canon T1i I hope to save up for a good birding lens for it.
I've enjoyed seeing your pictures. I love #2. The yellows and golds are just beautiful. The fly pic is really neat.
