So as it turns out, newborn shots of your own are super hard! or maybe its just me

I also have a lot to learn about shooting newborns, as this was only my second time shooting one. Anyways, I did get a few that I am quite happy with, as the mommy

All with my rebel and 50mm CC is always welcome, as long as you don't call my baby ugly

roughly 1.4 ISO 200, F 1.8, SS (1/320) for all

Gorgeous Lauren! I hope I can get some as good as these! I've been meaning to ask you where you got your furry blanket? I found some fabric at the fabric store, but it doesn't look as nice as yours. We did art linen for our Christmas cards this year and they turned out fabulous! I'm thinking we'll use the same for our LO's announcements

I came out of lurkdom and logged in through the annoyingly long login process to tell you these are amazing!!! The creaminess of the skin and the focus is spot on. Your black and whites are just stunning. My favorite is #3, the pose, processing, and composition are just too sweet to not love. Also, great job on the announcment. Love the pencil/hand drawn look.

I would say you have some great talent for newborns!

The blanket is a fake sheepskin from ikea. It was $10

I have another white fur one from walmart, but this one has a more textured look. I can't wait to see pics of your new little guy!

Thank you so much... I can't decide if I like shooting newborns yet, they sure make you work for it! I actually bought the template for the announcements from Oh Snap! boutique.. I don't bother with making them anymore... I'm just not that great at it.

First off, your baby is ADORABLE!

I also think you did a great job taking pictures of your little one, I don't know how you picked just one for the announcement.
