It's been awhile I know. For those who don't have me on their flickr, these are my most recent edits. Some from July. I am a little behind but not really because I haven't really been taking many photos...just lots of snaps some with my P&S and some with my 40D.
This year I took my family's photos. Usually we'd go to some studio to get them done but after last years experience, I decided to save us some money and do it myself. and I did them in my moms new home on her couch in the living room. All I used was my tripod and speedlight. I am very proud..but also very self conscious to be posting these here. So I might take them down in a couple days. First here are some pictures of my brother. We didn't get a chance to go somewhere nice to take pics so I took them right outside my parents yard in some shade. He wanted to wear white even though I told him not to. oh well...it wasn't that bad.
this one in my moms living room. I really liked all the colors of that thing (what is it called?) on the couch so I left it in. The only thing that bugs me is that the curtains in the back aren't exactly in the middle but everything else I like.
used my 30mm lens and speedlite.
family photo same settings as above.
and another family photo. this one really means a lot to me. i don't know if you all remember last year when my parents home burned down and they lost everything and me and my brother lost all of our childhood things. I saw a picture of my dad from that time and he looked so sad and so much older. It makes me happy that they now have a new home and lots of things again. This new home came with all the furniture that they needed! Everything. It was a blessing. And this past summer was definitely a new beginning. My moms new dog has also helped her to fill that empty spot in her heart after losing 3 of her pets. So she needed to be in the pic too sorry but i do not like the way i look in this picture i totally forgot to do my hair that day. ugh!
50mm and speedlite
And we've all taken pics of baby bums I LOVE this one of my son. If this is inappropriate let me know I will take it down.
my moms cat lazing around
and a couple weekends ago. I didn't take very many pictures. I really need to learn how to see more creatively! this one is in my siggy but just a bit bigger so you can see it better I really love this one! I know..its just mommy goggles.
cc not necessary but welcomed I can't exactly go back and retake my family photos though since they are an ocean away I hope I can take better pics later on. My home isn't that clean all the time (and its small) so i can't exactly take photos of my kids inside. It would just be snaps all the time, you know...distracting background, etc. thanks for looking...and i have a few more on my flickr. I hope to add more later on. I really wish I could take more shots of my brother though. I know he'd appreciate it and I could use the practice...but alas...there is an ocean between us.
and just to share...just a couple of snaps..i have lots of them that I need to upload but these ones are already on my flickr. just wanted to share! SOOC no editing what so ever. Taken with my P&S.
Oh you did great!
I love # 1 its a lovely shot and the background is just fine IMHO
Your family pictures are great and as it symbolises the new beginning for you family, I think that makes it priceless.

That bum shot is too cute, love everything about it!
The family pictures are good too. I need to do that. I like the pic of your brother. Of course, it would have been easier if he didn't wear white, but I think it's a good one.
thanks the white i didn't mind after I found out that I actually didn't blow it in camera. That was great! I have always blown whites in camera but I have gotten to know my camera a bit more.
I love the first one, that looks natural. The second one of him looks unnatural to me.. maybe the way he's looking off to the side? The family photos are great, too! I wish I could see those little kiddie toes, though. Hehe! But I bet it was hard enough just getting them to look at the same time. The baby bum is adorable! And your story about your parents is very touching. I'm happy to hear that they are doing so much better now and are much happier. You did a good job capturing that.
thank you i tried to pay attention to the toes and feet and stuff but its not so easy with more than one person i think the SOOC shot has their toes in the picture though but I tried to get the background a bit even and the crop I was using just wasn't working out so much to get those chopped hands/toes/whatever in the picture. I figured since it was just of my family that doesn't matter too much I haven't had the chance of shooting other people so I haven't really focused too much on that area yet. I'm sure once the time comes though I will watch out about cutting off things
I am impressed that you got yourself in the pics! And your mom's afghan is awesome! Love the baby bum pic. The processing on it looks great!
I saw these on FB, and loved them. but baby butt wasn't there - that is so freakin' cute!!!
I can't stick around for CC, I'll have to come back for that later. But so glad you shared these here, I was wondering if you were going to.
