FIREWORKS (share yours here)

I figured we can share photos in one place... Since Canada Day just passed and Fourth of July events just finished, everyone can through something out here (and those of you without recent fireworks, feel free to share something from the past).

Here are mine! Used a tripod and remote, but it was super windy, so I still had camera shake. Grrrr. This was the first time my 3 year old has gone to see the show, and he was super in to it!

This is a compilation photo of all my best from last night. No tripod...I was too lazy to lug it around. Hand held between 1/10 and 1/25. I had plenty of camera shake, and not those nice perfect lines you look for...but the evening was captured, so there! Blum 3

Great shots.

My camera died early in the day (must make note to get second battery), so all I had was my cell phone, tried capturing them with it but they really didn't turn out well.

Great shots!!! I too didn't bother with a tripod; we were out in our backyard having a campfire cookout, and our neighbors happened to start putting off thousands of dollars' worth of fireworks, I would love to know where these people get the money LOL (we are in the boonies pretty much)...so it was quite a great show right from our backyard!!

I just handheld my shots and I took probably over a hundred shots. I just uploaded my favorites and I'll post them asap. Smile

Beautiful shots, ladies!

I was too lazy to get out the camera this year. They have fireworks every weekend at Washington Harbor, so I might try to get some shots one Saturday night. There won't be as big a crowd to fight, so it might be easier.

It was hard to set the camera down and just enjoy them, lol. I eventually did though.

These are great Amber: I have camera shake at 1/100 (and poor balance too)

Very nice Amy, I like how the sky reflects the color of the firework!

Thanks, I think the smoke toward the end when they were exploding more often is what made the sky look colored.

Here is another fave, for all the colors in it:

I have a few others too but I am having trouble with Flickr right now and this is the only one I could access this afternoon :/

Very neat, everyone! I missed all the fireworks this year Sad

Beth, I love that you used a slower shutter speed to catch the light trail. The ones I took a couple of months ago were a lot like Amber and Amy's, very staccato and not much light trail. Neat take!

I didn't get many useable photos of the fireworks this year. We were a lot closer than I thought we would be, and I only brought my 55-250mm lens. (Man, I SO need a new camera bag that holds all my stuff) Plus I had no tripod, so lots of them are pretty shaky.

We did play around in the backyard with the Morning Glory's.

Cute, Steph! Is "Morning Glory" another name for sparklers? I haven't heard that before.

Mine turned out just how I wanted them, so I was happy...I like the "staccato" effect, it's how they look as they happen. Smile I used an SS of around 1/13.

Yeah, it's a glorified sparkler. It does different effects than your typical sparkler.

Hi everyone! I have been MIA for a while ever since returning to work from my maternity leave (booo, less time to take pictures!). I just wanted to chime in and say that I love this thread! I didn't get to see any fireworks this year. I had to work during a few different local shows and then DH thought the noise might scare the LO's, so we opted out this year. Anyway, you all did an awesome job on your photos... Love them!!
