I had a newborn session yesterday - I was at the house for close to 4 hours. But I still forgot a couple of shots I meant to get. I have a lot of good ones, so the big challenge is narrowing down the images to a good working gallery. I don't want to PP more than I have to. Anyhow, I'm still going through them, but I had to share the first one I opened. It's softer than I'd like, so I'm bummed about that, but I still like it. I finished knitting the cocoon 10 minutes before I left for the session (and I knit the hat when I was on vacation almost 2 weeks ago). Love how they turned out!!!!

I'll share more when I'm done, but just wanted to show the hat/cocoon. And if you have any thoughts on baby's skintone, let me know. Still trying to figure out the best tone for the baby in ACR.
Gwen - I love the color of the hat and cocoon thingy. I am on uncalibrated monitor so I can't comment so much on color. The baby's face looks soft, most likely because your SS was 1/80. I would have bumped it up to 1/125 to get that crisp look.

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
yes, his face is definitely soft. I was trying to keep my SS above 100-125, but didn't always succeed with that. So I won't recommend them printing this big or anything due to the softness.
The cocoon was so warm, he fell asleep in it for a little bit. He didn't like it when I took it off him.
Way too cute!! love the cocoon! and the lines in the floor are such a lovely contrast!

I know he's a little soft, but I guarntee you that mom will still love this! The hat/cocoon is simply lovely and sets such a warm feel for the shoot. WOW! That great wood floor goes well w/ it too. Skin tones look pretty good to me. His cheeks look a *little* red, but it looks natural.
I can't wait to see more!!!
I see the softness in the face, but it's not terribly bad. Love the cacoon! Very nice job

I agree that the focus is a little soft, but I love the composition. The rich, warm color flecks in the cocoon play nicely against the flooring, too. I'd like to see a slightly tighter shot that focused a little more on the baby's facial features, but I do like the way the baby is framed in this shot.
