I didn't see one, so thought I'd start a thread for this week. What have you all been up to?
And technically these are from this weekend, not last week. But since I was sharing, I thought I'd go ahead and post them.
8. (Wow... Didn't take long to show this time!)
Great pics, Danielle! That belly is already looking great! The backlit flowers are so pretty, too!
Danielle! I love the flower shot with the rainbow sunflare! Awesome!!
Let's see what I have this week. My editing is ALL over the place since my calibrating nightmare. I decided to give up on calibration for now, until I get a monitor/desktop.
We had some amazing fog last week! I had to take Jackson out in it. A couple have been posted. I had no idea how to process them, so they're nothing spectacular, editing wise. Mostly SOOC.

We're teaching Carson how to ride his bike. I think it's going to take a while....he's not very balanced....lol!IMG_0337-2 by Stephanie.Miller, on Flickr
Every night, Drew tries to sing Jackson a song before bed, and every night, Jackson hates it!IMG_0342-2 by Stephanie.Miller, on Flickr
Those are cute, Steph! I just love that Superman cape and hat. Micah would be in heaven with that!
Here are some from our kids' joint birthday party (their birthdays are three weeks apart, so we sometimes celebrate them together). Nora wanted to wear this outfit for the party:
We ordered Chinese food for the party because we were still sick and I was too tired to cook. Nora LOVES Chinese and loves sucking up the chow mein noodles:
I made Mike & Sully cakes for them:
Colour's off here but Micah is eating his cake:
Just some silly ones from the park:
And Micah playing at the river:
I have a ton of photos from a trip to a bird sanctuary with a friend, but here are my faves:
Sorry so many this time, just a lot going on!
Those cakes are awesome!! Carson would LOVE them! My favorite is the one of Nora at the park. Awesome bird photos!
So glad to see this!
Danielle- I am loving those flower shots with the sun! great job!
Steph- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all of them!
Tracy- Those cakes look great! I love them! You have some awesome bokeh going on in those last ones!
I don't have but one from my big girl camera and then a few from instagram!
This kid is obsessed with my phone! Edited to add- he has cedar shavings on him. He was helping Daddy in the barn and came in for a bit of Subway Surfers!phone love_b&w_web by sadieruth, on Flickr

Thanks everyone. (I didn't realize I had posted the small images, so I re-did my original post.) I loved how the light was coming through the trees and only lighting up some of the flowers. That's what had drawn me to it initially. Then I decided to try for the flare. Rather proud of myself
Steph- Love the cape!
Tracy- those cakes are awesome!
SO many great shots! Thanks for starting this Danielle!
Danielle ... you are really rocking the nature shots this week. The back lit flowers are lovely, but I really adore the first one with the sun peeking through the trees.
Steph ... your boys always look so happy and full of life! Jackson looks SO ADORABLE out in the fog and it's great to see you come out from behind the camera as well. That last one really tickles me. I used to sing to Logan in the mornings at wake up. But he *hated* it, so eventually I gave up on it. He may not like the way I sing, but he can't get enough dancing with me. I'll take it.
Tracy ... where to start?! I love Nora's birthday outfit! And those cakes are KILLER! How long did it take you to do all those stars on Sully? The birds are AMAZING! What lens were you using for that? I would love to hit some of our nature preserves this spring - you've inspired me.
Sadie ... your photos clearly show it is not the camera that makes the shot! LOL that Randy is obsessed with your phone - Logan is that way w/ my iPad. And Capt America ROCKS! Your doughnut dates look so fun. I love that smile on Ruthie's face - she's in heaven!
We all got sick last week, so the only photos I took were of Loli and I the day I decided to come out from behind the camera myself. I shared my favorites in the Love thread. But here are a few more from that day:
Logan's been on a growth spurt the last month. We wear the same size shoe now. I expect him to pass me in height any day now. My heart aches. But in a good way.
Steph- I don't know how, but I missed the one of Jackson with his tongue sticking out- that has to be one of my FAVES of him! LOVE it!
GiGi- thanks for the kind compliments! Holy smokes he IS growing wayyyyy too fast! It seems like just the other day he was Ruthie's age! So glad to see you in front of the camera and I have to say, he is one good looking boy! Hope you are all feeling better!
GiGi and Sadie, great pics. GiGi, Logan is getting so grown-up and handsome! And Sadie, it seems you and your kids have such a great relationship -- it always shows in the pics. Just a lotta love.
The Sully cake was actually the easier of the two. I should've used fondant for the Mike cake, but I've been too intimidated to try it so far. Next year! But Mike was hard to get fairly smooth, and the eye was tricky. He didn't look as good overall. Decorating Sully took me about 2.5 hours, Mike about 3. Add in the baking and clean-up time, and all together I think I spent about 8 hours on those cakes!
The bird shots were just with my kit lens, mostly at its longest focal length of 135mm. This was at a bird sanctuary and there are birds everywhere, so it's not hard to get a few good shots, even without a longer lens. I would highly recommend taking some time to go and do something like this... it was a delight, and just what I needed to lift my spirits. I am dying to take the kids back there when the ducklings start arriving in the spring.
Oh, you must share duckling photos when that happens! They are so darn cute! A local farm store back in IL used to sell ducklings in the spring, and I always took the kids out to see them. Definitely a highlight of the year. Especially when you get a nice employee who would pick up the ducklings and let the kids pet them.
So many awesome shots! I am "in a slump" and haven't done much with my "real" camera lately. I cannot WAIT for spring/summer.
Tracy I am IN LOVE with your chickadee photo!!!!
finally my computer is working again! got some type of virus that kept shutting me out as soon as I logged in. All fixed now:)
Danielle love the rainbow. Sometimes if you set your ap to f/22 you can get that sun to burst a little more:) great job!
Steph, Jackson is so darn cute! love your fog shots and your indoor lighting!
Tracy, my fave is also Nora at the park. Great job on the cakes they look amazing.
Gigi, what a handsome little man u have. Glad to see you and the other girls as well getting in the shots.
For valentines day dh got me a speedlite:) I was playing with it taking a few shots of our room makeover. Just now getting the hang of it so just 2 snaps 4 now.
We painted the walls a light grey and bought a new bed and a few new pillows. Now I can redo the shot of Damien without the headboard going thru his head:)
