Flash back Friday: Oct 8 - 15

It's Friday! It's Friday! It's Friday! (anyone want to join me in my happy dance?!)

Regardless of the dance, let's get this Friday started on the right foot with a flash back of your favorite shots of the week!

Can't wait to see them all!

Best,

I'm dancing! Lol I just don't have any pics to share....wait, I might. Off to check my flash drive!

Ok, found two from this week, and one from a couple of weeks ago that I really want to share!

These two were from last week, while we were playing outside.
Trying panning, but failing miserably! I wish she was at least looking at me!

I didn't take too many pictures this past week. I wasn't really in the mood really. I kept up with my 365 but nothing else.

taken with my p&s last sunday...blown side of face and all. But i love it because he actually LOOKED at the camera (he never ever does!) and smiled for me, such a silly smile. Smile

Sunday Walk by loidaeg, on Flickr

last night he actually drank strawberry MILK for the first time and finished ALL of it! I was so proud. If you knew him, he has never ever liked milk so I've always given him plenty of yogurts and cheese and stuff with calcium to make up for it. Smile here he is drinking some in a pink sippy cup and all lol

and I was messing around with my close up filters with this one. I'll be able to get pretty close up shots now of my miniatures Smile hmm I'll have to make them even more realistic now! Biggrin

Sadie ... those are really fun! I just love the tire swing. Even without eye contact on the first, you get the feel of the motion with your panning. COOL! And that 2nd shot w/ the two of them is just WONDERFUL!

Loida ... your boy is looking SO BIG in these pictures! isn't he supposed to stay a baby forever?! Your mini-pizza looks GREAT!

This has been another fun week around here ... my birthday quickly follows Loli's so we pretty much party for the first few weeks of October each year. Smile The boys got me an awesome new digital photo frame and I just LOVE IT! It's become a big hit in the family room.

here's my boy and his friends enjoying some lazer tag:

blowing out the candle:

learning his single leg take down:

and a quick collage share ... this is my cousin and her kids. I had fun with them!

My mom has been living in Spain for the past 3/4 years and she is missing the holiday stuff too. She just found a pumpkin, well someone gave it to her out of their garden, because she was talking about missing pumpkins in Oct, and they happened to be growing one. We have seriously considered moving over there, and we still might, but all of the holidays here were such a big part of my childhood, I can't imagine my kids growing up without them either.

OH gosh I know that feeling oh so well! I grew up with all those American holidays. I miss them so much you have no idea! Sad I get so sad when I see/hear of people going to pumpkin patches with their kids on a nice autumn day. I would love to be able to take my kids to one and have those memories. Take pictures, etc. It's the same with Christmas and Santa. Santa does not exist here. I can't go anywhere to get a picture of my kids with Santa. Same goes for Easter and the Easter bunny. I can't even find an Easter basket for them. Thanks to my mom for sending me some cute soft baskets this last year that I'll be reusing next Easter. We do easter egg hunts inside the house since there is still snow out at that time outside (but I know for a fact that its nice and warm in my hometown around that time). But no one else Easter egg hunts. I remember going to big Easter egg hunts when I was a kid and I know they still do them in my hometown. And Halloween? The costumes are a joke here and kids (younger than 10) don't trick or treat. It's usually only the older ones and I've only gotten two trick or treaters each year for the past two years. Plus, even if we did go out trick or treating chances are that most houses won't have candy even though their light is on outside. Pumpkins are hard to find and for about one week only they sell them at certain grocery stores but if you miss out then good luck finding another. People just don't know what to do with Pumpkins! You know, I've tried embracing the Norwegian holiday spirit but to be honest...it's so lame. With no family here it's a bit hard to get into whatever Norwegians do for the holidays. I can't wait to be with my own family again! And celebrate all these holidays again. One year from now we'll be living in the USA! Yahoo Actually, more like 7 months.

if you do end up moving though I know after some time you will create your own traditions and maybe use whatever traditions Spain has when it comes to holidays. But maybe you'll be different and love Spain and embrace it all. I for one do not like living here in Norway so it makes it a bit harder to get into it all. We have no family here at all, its just us on all holidays and I hate that. I miss family warmth. ya know? I try though, it's just harder.

I know I haven't been around in quite some time... things have been crazy here. I went back to work and have just been VERY overwhelmed with life in general lately. We are celebrating my Middle C's birthday tomorrow. Yesterday I finished her "party skirt & shirt" and she couldn't wait to model for me, so outside we went.

totally centered, but I loved how she looked like a little cupcake here... not to mention, the grandma's have been complaining that all the girls pictures are "uneven"... they are so funny, so this one is just for them Smile

This was her invite for her party... as you can probably tell she's having a cupcake theme party...

The girls and I also headed to the beach last weekend, the weather here was AMAZING. I don't know the last time I was at Lake MI and able to put my feet in the water, in October.

This last one is right after we picked out pumpkins. My in-laws sell pumpkins for our cousin, so we just picked them out at their house, very last minute, nothing fancy...

I've been trying to check out all your work when I have a chance... it's nice seeing some new faces here... wish I had time to post more...

Great pics everyone! Loida, I can kind of understand where you are coming from. Although the UK does celebrate various holidays, I miss Halloween! They have started celebrating it, it is not the same. No excitement, and they totally miss the point of going out and having fun with family/friends, it all about how what you get given (and yes, some cheeky older kids will demand money).

Anyway, here's my favourites from last week:

A wild red deer stag. We have lots and lots of fallow deer, but only a very small herd of red deer. Finally found them after weeks of searching. I was shaking so bad from excitement and being that close (I only have a 200mm zoom) to all those points on his antlers, lol!

And just 1 from the band shoot. It isn't perfect and I learned SO much, but I think they will be happy. This was a very quick, 2 minute edit to give them an idea of what could be done (as you could see the lights and the edges of the background in the original shot)

Jenn very cute pics! I think it's ok to center subjects sometimes. In your case the first two would have been Ok to center as long as her eyes were in the top third then no problem! Very cute! love that cupcake hat! Smile

Kerry that last one looks great! Love your nature shots too Smile

Everyone's pictures look great! I love looking at this thread! Smile

I'm a little late! I was out of town until yesterday evening, but I wanted to share a few shots I got over the last week or so!

I took DS out to the barn where I ride for the first time to meet all of the horses! It happened to be when the trainer from England was visiting for his bi-annual lesson-teaching, so I snapped my trainer and another girl during their ride.

And then DS and I went out to visit my parents in Pittsburgh for a few days during the week. We went to this thing called Shakers Woods or something, and I took along my camera. It was so crazy, though! But it was a pretty cool Christmas festival!

Thanks everyone. I will share more from the band shoot when they give me permission to share, they have yet to decide which ones they want before I edit them (would never do this for a normal shoot, only 'cos they are friends)
