I am sooo new to this, so I shouldn't be too frustrated. Just got photoshop last week and the first thing I need to do is create a watermark (thanks to whoever gave me that advice!)
I've read and watched so many tutorials on how to create one. I have a basic one done, but no idea how to put it on my pics.
Either I'm really dumb when it comes to photoshop or it really hates me.
Any ideas, advice, great tutorials I must watch?
Anything appreciated! thanks
Thanks! It seems like great instructions, however it still hates me
f5 does nothing. I found the brushes under "window" and opened it, but it's gray and not letting me do anything with it.
I can't wait for my books to be ready at the library to pick up so I can get a start on this. I'm not liking this at all. ugh.
If it's gray you don't have the brush function preselected. Make sure your background window is highlighted, and then hit "b" to select the brush function. Then hit F5, and you should be able to select a brush from there.
Don't worry, you'll figure it out!
ok, finally got it available - the brushes! however no watermark is there. apparently it's not saved correctly. I am at a total loss. I don't even know if I'm opening the photos correctly. Do I need to adjust size, pixels, etc.?
Are you saving your watermark as a brush? I'm not sitting in front of PS right now...but it's really simple. Here's a link that might help:
Once it's saved as a brush, the steps above will work.
PS is so frustrating and overwhelming at first. Been there! Do you have any of Scott Kelby's books? They are WONDERFUL for learning photoshop for photography!
I have several books on hold at the library to pick up. None are Scotty Kelby's though, so I'm off to see if I can find some of those too!
Thanks for your help!
Hang in there, I know from experience the simplest thing for me in photoshop takes hours! But, it gets easier the more you play. Here's a link to a thread I saved that helped me create my watermark. Good luck!
