A few weeks ago I downloaded the Helicon filter for its noise reduction ability. My PSP8 has good noise reduction tools but I wanted to see if a downloadable one would be better.
When I go to the noise editing section, any setting higher than 1 on the 1st/main slider completely blurs out the whole photo to the point of looking like a pool of water, and on the setting of 1 the photo becomes super soft like it's been smudged 1000x.
I played with all the sliders in the noise section, trying different combinations of things, but can't figure out why it is doing such an aggressive action even on 1.
Does anyone have this filter and know what I might be missing?
hmmm ... haven't heard of that one. I use the noiseware stand alone software for my noise reduction and love it.
Haven't heard of that one either. I use Neat Image...they have a really good free version too.
I forget where I first read about Helicon (I've been reading so darned much about photog lately I can't keep track lol) Thanks, I'll have to try the free Neat Image version next.
