Help-Which room has the best light for NB pictures?

I decided that I need to go ahead and figure out where in my house I want to set up to take pictures of my LO whenever we bring him/her home. I have 4 locations in my house that I am considering and would like to hear what you all think. I am still trying my best to take pictures that aren't "flat". But I personally don't like too much contrast. As it stands, I'm leaning toward setting up in the office, but worry there might not be enough contrast with shadow because the room is pretty evenly lit. I would normally avoid using the entryway/hallway, thinking that the light isn't soft enough. But like I said, since I feel like I still struggle with dimension in my photos, I wanted to ask. I'm looking for opinions on not only which room, but also on what angle/location to set up the backdrop stand. TIA!

FYI, My house faces south. I just took these around 2:00. (Oh and BTW, please overlook the lack of decorating on my part... I just haven't had the time or energy to get it all done since we moved in back in April.) Smile

This first room is our office, right on the front of the house.

Angle 1

Angle 2

The 2nd room is our living room/ great room. The back door is facing north, the right wall faces east.

Angle 1 (I think I might have had the kitchen light on behind me...)

Angle 2 (Kitchen light was definitely off in this one)

The 3rd room is my bedroom-- windows facing north.

The 4th location is our entry way, with directional lighting strictly from the front door that I don't have blinds for yet. (south).

I'm no expert, but it looks to me like you have a lot of great options there Danielle! The office has really nice light and since it's so open, you should have a lot of room to set up and work. I think the bedroom would be pretty good too though and you would have use of the bed. I also really like the hardwood in the hallway with the directional light.

Honestly, from my perspective, I think you should do well in whatever room works best for you and your little one.

I can't wait to see the photos when he/she arrives!

I'd say your office has the smoothest light. I'd probably go with that.
