So I've been going back and forth on whether I even wanted to TRY studio type photography. I love getting outside and doing natural light and fun photography. But lately I've been wanting to try it out. Then I started pricing seamless and stands. Eek!! I've been spending too much lately to ask DH for MORE
Well, I went to my local camera shop yesterday to pick up the lens for my photography class and saw they carry the whole line of Savage seamless paper. It's 25 bucks a roll (53 inch)!! I was way excited because I feel like it's a bit easier for DH to swallow if it's under 30 bucks. Any who, when I go to drop off my rental, I was going to pick up a roll of seamless while I was there.....any suggestions on color? I know thunder gray is SO popular, but I'm just not digging the dark gray. I was thinking more along the lines of bone. Anyone have any experience they would like to lend?
Also, found out last night I am NOT a sports photographer I'll share some when I get them edited. I did get some pretty neat shots, just nothing OOOHHH or AHHHH
Well, I ended up getting Studio Gray. It wasn't what I really wanted as my first roll, but it turned out OK. So, here is my first attempt. Excuse the clothes, it was a spur of the moment shoot and I had to work with what was willing at that exact moment

I've been looking at seamless too, so I'm curious to see what others suggest. So far I have just been using fabric since it's cheap and I can fold it up and put it away in a closet when I am done.
LOL! Can't wait to see what you did get yesterday at the game! I'm sure you are being hard on yourself and that they are better then you think!
Well, they didn't have bone in 53 inch I was a bit disappointed. I ended up getting Studio Gray, which was just a bit more gray than the bone, but still a light neutral (from Savage's chart on the wall). They didn't have as many colors as I had thought. A lot of the bright colors and some basic general colors. I'll try this one out and see how it goes.
Now to Home Depot to get a bunch of PVC pipe and make the 'Poor Man's Seamless Stand'
Amy, I'll be sure to post some when I get them edited. I was just was hoping for a bit more. But it's cool! It was an experience I would have never ventured to do on my own!
I don't have seamless yet ... I want to though. I wanted to wait until I got rid of the carpet which just recently happened. can't wait to see your stand and first photos with it.
