holiday cards

OK guys ... I've seen some really nice cards already, so I thought I'd start a thread where we can all share the cards we are sending of our family.

If you are not making a card, then how 'bout a family/kid holiday shot? If you've got it, share it HERE!

Best,
GiGi

Lauren, I like it too!

Stephanie I agree it's a VERY cute photo! you did fine. Smile

Thanks GiGi, I am very happy and can't wait to receive them and start mailing them!!! I also made an 8x8 photobook of Eva's portraits, and ordered prints too, I can't wait to get all that either Smile

I saw yours GiGi at FB and thought it was adorable--very perfectly boyish but still sweet Smile

Here's Mine....I actually ordered two versions. One flat for people we don't know as well, and this folded card for family. I plan to take a family photo this weekend and print it off and just include it in the cards when we get them.

Having them printed at WHCC. Ordered UV coated this year...I think the gloss will look nice with this design.

OH, and I'm pretty sure I got this template at ILP. Not positive though...I have tons of templates and lose track of where I get them all.

Hi all! Everything has been so crazy busy in my life the past month or so - I know I've been scarce. But, I did manage to find time to throw together a Christmas card. I did mine in InDesign, because I have no idea how to do them in Photoshop yet!

With money being a bit tight at the moment, I got them printed at uprint.com. I would've loved to try out WHCC, but it was too much. Sad

Someday, one of you should post a tutorial on how to make such gorgeous cards. I absolutely love all of them!

Logan wanted one more card to give to his best friend, so I did this one for him:

Again, thanks for playing, guys ... I am LOVING this thread!

Ugh! I finally finished mine!! Took me all morning! Sheesh!!! I couldn't find any papers or templates I liked so I put something together from a couple different kits. I'm glad I'm done. I am satisfied! I usually write them in Norwegian but I'm not going to this year. Smile

This WAS the card I was going to print and send out....then my sis and mom posted the pictures all over FB and e-mailed to family :bigangry: Hardly any point in doing them now. I knew I shouldn't have e-mailed the edits to my sister to see, guess I should have told her to keep them to herself. At least YOU guys get to see my hard work.

How does "Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" sound? I think I might change it. And if you don't want to write "with love, ___" at the end what else is ok to write? I don't want to write "from" lol

That sounds good too. As for the salutation at the end, you might say "best wishes from", or "warm regards"....

I just found another beautiful template for a Christmas card that I couldn't resist playing with--I just love the color combination & design....so I might use this for something if I can think of something LOL:

it's so neat seeing what everyone is doing!!!!

I usually make my own, but I used templates this year.

The family - I'm doing a double sided felt paper card this year. I'm excited, I can't wait to see it in person. But I didn't order until last night, so I won't even get them until next week. Sad A late card is better than no card, right? Smile

Front

Back (they wanted to make funny faces, I was up for it since we were done that set of photos Wink )
holiday card back

And then I have a card for each kid to give their teachers. This is also a template. I turned the green colors red for the girls, thought that came out cool.

Andrew was something else with his poses. He didn't want a teeth smile because his teeth are just at a funny place right now.

andrew card2

Jordan didn't want to be by our tree, she wanted the little tree.

Natalie doesn't like her picture, I need to see what she wants to change it out with (I have a lot to choose from, she wanted her photo taken repeatedly)

OK, So I am a little late to the game...
I printed this as a flat card for people we aren't as close to, and folded card for people we "love."

Front

The inside of the folded card had a family photo in black and white with the words "and Full of Love" under it... then our names...

Wording on the back of the flat cards (or inside front cover of folded cards): I got the idea from ILP

This year has been full of growth and change.
In 2010 we…
Laughed, cried, danced, celebrated, mourned, and loved. We played a lot of soccer, did a lot of zumba, played clarinet, and just plain played. We made excellent grades, started third and eighth grades, found wonderful childcare, returned to the car business, dreamed of starting a photography business and worked on time management. We traveled to Hawaii, visited Oregon, went to summer camp, made memories, and became closer as a whole. We have taken pictures, moved houses twice, had birthday parties, gone trick-or-treating, shared meals and watched movies. We have written stories, drawn comics, danced in the kitchen and uncovered the joy of everyday life. We have lost our tempers, apologized, hugged, kissed, tickled, giggled and learned a lot. This year has taught us to rely on one another, recognize our blessings and rediscovered our gratitude for our wonderful friends and family.
This has been a good year.

No one really wanted to cooperate with me on pictures for my Christmas cards so I decided to just put a few of my snap shots together, got the background image from an online free image source.
