Holiday Pictures

Anyone take any Holiday themed pictures yet? I'm hoping to get something in the next few days. I have a few ideas. I need to catch the kids in a good mood though Wink

I'll be doing Eva's Christmas pics this week and hoping to get one of the both of us this time too, for the photo cards. I have not been on the ball with her pics this year. I'm excited to do them though!

I haven't done any but I was hoping to get Dana to cooperate in doing doing one where it looks like Natalie has tied her up with garland (we have a fiber optic tree so no lights :()

Something kinda like the first shot in these.

I have this idea, just gotta get out there and let them do it! I have my last photo shoot today for this year, so I am ready to just focus on MY kids!

A package from my mom came today, containing a pair of adorable Christmas pajamas for the boys! I couldn't help but take some photos of my (uncooperative) kids!

Not the best, since my camera just can't handle low light and the flash wasn't enough, but it was all I could get. Blown reds and all Wink

Steph, I love them! ESPECIALLY #1! That is sooooo cute. Man, I'd be beyond thrilled with myself if I got Christmas photos that looked that nice of my kids in our house with our decorations!

Steph, I never would have known they weren't cooperative. Those look great IMO. Smile

I've taken some pictures of them, but am no where near done for the season. I want to attempt a few more "formal" pictures hopefully with all of us, and to try and get some pictures of them in their PJs around the tree. But first I need to find cute PJ's. Wink

My fist group can be found in another thread. If you want to see them, here it is. http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/photography-239/share-today-701934/ I really need to find time to learn better editing techniques....

Here are some I took in front of the tree Saturday. I know the WB is off. I like the warmer feel in these personally.

16. I took several different comps of this one. Opinions? I'm not sure I'm in love with it.

Great pics, Danielle! The twins look like they were having a lot of fun enjoying the tree. Christmas is so magical to the little ones -- you've captured a little of that here. I like the warmer feel too.

I like #16 very much, it's very pretty. I think I'd prefer it in this orientation but with the ornament lower down... but it's hard to know how that would look.

Thanks Tracy. Smile They did have a lot of fun. Without having a flash, I wanted to try and make the low lighting work for me. I'm sure others would be able to get sharper pictures in the same situation, but I'm very pleased with them. Last year I was just starting to play around with using priority settings--- I hadn't even attempted to shoot in manual. I didn't know how to adjust the ISO, A and SS to capture what I was able to this year.

Here's a different comp for that last one.

I love your pics, Danielle! I have taken ones just like that, so I can relate (especially the ornament macros).

Danielle, I LOVE the black and white ones! I may have to steal that from you...... Wink

Here's another one. I'm going to do this pose again with different pajamas in hopes to not blow the reds so badly. I'm really aching for a new camera, cause poor lighting is really cramping my style.

Steph, I know you're aching for a new camera, and it's frustrating with lower ISOs, but your tree pictures are so fantastic, beautifully exposed, not noisy at all, wonderfully sharp... seriously! And don't worry, that 5D MIII is just around the corner.

Did Eva's (and my) shoot this afternoon after work....which sucked because it was almost dark already and the window light was useless. It started out feeling disastrous but by the second half was working much better. I don't often use raw but this time it has helped immensely. I do love it more each time I switch over. Just wish I could afford my new pc already so I'd have a good monitor at home and no more dinosaur memory.

i did a shoot with each of my older kids but not really a holiday theme. I just wanted good pics of them for family gifts. I am thrilled with how they came out. I have tons but i'm gonna wait to share since i don't want them out and about yet!

this one i was proud of...the focus was so spot on that i had to darken his pupils to remove my crystal clear reflection....that's a rarity!!

Cute pics, Rebecca!! Thanks for the compliment on the fireplace. It really is beautiful. I wish I could take credit for it lol! They used the same stone that we have in the outside if the house. Only downside is that the kids mess with the stones and some have come out. I'm not entirely sure that it was THEM that loosened them since there was one previous one net who had children as well, but they do mess with them an awful lot... Lol

Our tree is in a really awkward place this year for photos (not the usual spot) and there is really no good angle to get good light from without getting a lot of background clutter. And it's against a yellow wall. But I did take this one today, on the spur of the moment, and was kind of happy with it. She's holding an ornament with her birth year and the words "Nora's First Christmas" on it.

And this one is just a snap, but it makes me smile, so I thought I'd share:
Christmas... fun?!

P.S. The one of Nora was taken with my brother's "nifty fifty" prime lens that he's lending me for a while, yay!!!

LOVE everyone's pictures! I've been looking for xmas jamies for the kids, but haven't found anything for a 4 year old girl and an 8 month old boy that match well :/ I'll keep looking.

I got about 5 minutes with Rylee this morning.

This is what I started with...

LOL!! That last pic is priceless, Jennifer! Gotta love PCS (Photographer's Child Syndrome)! I got an amazing eye roll from Jackson a few days ago.

But that first one is wonderful! If you can only get one, it's still worth it!

Adding another. Jackson just looks like such a sweetheart here. He usually just looks like he's up to no good Wink

I actually love that second on, Jennifer. It's classic!

One more of our tree... the angel is so dark up there, but I liked the starbursts on the lights so had to share:

ETA a couple more of our ornaments:

My favourite ornament, which we got the year we were married.

MMMM so beautiful, both of these last two shots ladies!

I have another of Eva that I like, this time with her glasses on......again we had horrible lighting in this session but, c'est la vie....I usually clone out any bit of glare that remains but I didn't here.....
