    Default holidays/Christmas is coming....ideas

I have to start thinking about a dress for Eva (I like to get her a special dress for her Christmas pics & traditional Christmas Eve dinner at family's house)....and about doing her pics too!

Have you all started thinking about the holiday pics too?

I am thinking this year I'll get her a blue dress since it's her favorite color and I have never done blue before with her (I usually gravitate toward warm colors and/or holiday colors)....which leads me to think I'd love to do some pics with some kind of silver & blue/snowflake theme. Maybe even retro-ish.

What are your plans for holiday pics of the kids?

Actually, I have been thinking, but haven't came up with anything great. The past few years, I have done my kids separate. I would LOVE to get them together. Wonder if that will happen......

I am thinking more lifestyle pics to be honest. I don't really have a great spot to set up a studio type.

I have a vision!!! Granted, it's nothing formal...just fun and spunky (just like DD).

I want to get this outfit: Cute casual outfit

And do something like this for a backdrop set-up: Neat Christmas light backdrop

I have a white goat fur rug she can lay/play on.

very cute idea. I am toying around with the idea of PJs and hot chocolate in holiday mugs in front of the lit tree.

May have to try something like this instead.

    Fun thread!

Ooh very neat, Jennifer! I love the look of twinkle lights used in backgrounds. That setup is really creative.

    Amy ...

I didn't use these for any kind of card, but last year we painted Logan's bedroom blue just before the holidays. And as we hadn't gotten around to decorating his room when Christmas rolled around, we made paper snowflakes and hung on the wall. You could do something like that - paper snowflakes on a blue backdrop - w/ a caption of 'dreaming of a white Christmas'

Ok, I tried the neat Xmas backdrop thing and man, it is harder than it looks, lol! I guess it didn't help that I only have 1 backdrop stand, then the wires to my lights were black!!! Argh! So I ran around the house looking for a suitably dark thing to use as a backdrop without it being black. I found a small purple blanket. As I was working in a tight space I was experimenting with the best way to make sure that he was against the tiny backdrop, then had to work out how to get the lights suitably blurred. I had a LOT of shots where the wires were visible. I finally found I had to be closer to him as well as having him a fair distance from the lights. It took me so long to fiddle around that this is what I got....... LOL!

Gorgeous, Kerry! This is my favorite type of Christmas photo, with bokeh'd lights....SO festive. Your rich purple blanket works well with the warm glow of the lights.

I did some of Eva like that using the lights from my tree last year.

I think I will definitely try the lights setup this year. I found Eva a dress; not pure blue but purplish-blue, so I think I will still plan on doing snowflakes & silver can't wait!
