After catching up all last week with my April/May photos, I finally had them all up on FB/Flickr and then realized I hadn't added my lightning pics from last week's super-storm! I was so excited about them too! LOL
So I wanted to show them here just for fun. They'll be up on FB at lunchtime. (they were shot using my Tamron 75-300 which I probably should have changed out to get wider angle, but I was in a hurry!! It still worked out well though.
#1: f/32, SS 8 seconds, 70mm, ISO 1600
#2: f/32, SS 20 seconds, 70mm, ISO 1600
#3: f/32, SS 15 seconds, 70mm, ISO 1600
#4: f/32, SS 15 seconds, 70mm, ISO 1600 (really interesting squiggle of lightning on our right that you probably would miss with the naked eye!)
I was inspired to try it out after seeing one from Kerry a few weeks ago, so then the night of the 12th we ended up having a huge long thunderstorm with record lightning, I remembered her settings and I took my tripod out to the back porch (we were out watching the lightning anyway--it was spectacular), and shot away

Thanks, settings added! oh, and the sky really was that color when lit up! hmmm I wonder why Flickr is saying these were at 70mm focal length when I was using a 75-300?

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
Jennifer did I miss some lightning shots from you? I was just browsing your Flickr again but didn't see any....
El, really? That's a shame, I love lightning/thunderstorms, ever since I was a kid when my Dad used to sit with us in chairs at the edge of the garage to watch the storms.
These are AMAZING!!!
thanks so much for sharing!
